| :Simple: this is a wiki. So there is a minimum standard that edits must conform to. Have a look at this and this for more information. | == Eight Team Colors ==
| |
| | |
| Here's something I would like to talk about. One change that I think should have happened in Ultimate is that four more team colors (orange, cyan, purple, and slate) were added. The team option was taken away, and no players (not even those controlled by CPU or Amiibo) could go without a team color. Also, the team color rotation should have been red, blue, yellow, green, orange, cyan, purple, and finally, slate. If Ultimate had gone that route, how many potential team combinations would there be? Do you think that Ultimate should have gone that route? 47.36.25.163
| |
| :This is not an appropriate use of talk pages. To answer your question however, I think it’s ridiculous. Having eight team colour options might look cool, but it’s functionally worthless, due to the player maximum being eight. Why have eight team options when you can just do an FFA?

| == DLC Spirit Boars Primary spirit types ==
| |
| | |
| So you are saying that the trivia is invalid, it's true since there are some primary spirits that do not have at least all four types (shield, attack, neutral, and grab). Pierce Ng (talk) 06:47, October 2, 2021 (EDT)
| |
| :It's invalid trivia because it falls under complexity: Where the trivia has a lot of exceptions and/or where it has sub-notes that break down what makes the trivia 'notable' to an excessively fine degree. The trivia in particular blatantly tried to except Fatal Fury from everything else so there's an issue right there. But I also believe that the trivia itself isn't that particularly interesting anyway, so there's also that. I think you will find this policy explains everything. | == About that Animal Crossing Music edit ==
| |
| | |
| One of your reasons for removing that edit was because it falls under "speculation".
| |
| | |
| Thing is, "Camel by Camel" isn't even an Animal Crossing song. From what info I could find, it's an 80s song by the artist Sandy Marton that seemingly only got popular due to being featured in a NSFW parody that is obviously in no way affiliated with Nintendo.
| |
| | |
| And judging by that IP's other two edits, it's rather clear that edit was an act of vandalization. | |
| :I figured it was probably vandalism. But my own personal rule is, if there's even the slightest doubt, assume it's not. I admit that my threshold for doubt is lower than other people on here, but even putting aside the non-existence of Camel by Camel in Animal Crossing (which I did), the reason given was pretty much a speculative reason. And as for my calling it obscene, I know we have this, but we've already established in the past that there are lines that shouldn't be crossed. Again, part of me reckons that it was indeed vandalism, but for the AGF part, that was the logic I was going by. | Despite your claim in that edit summary, you can actually see how the "Categories" text looks when using "Show Preview". You just have to scroll the page bar (the one for the entire tab, not the one in the editor) all the way down and you should see them. Hope I was clear enough on that. | :Huh. I looked down there but I didn't see it at the time, but I can now. Very odd. I have known it to be there in the past too, so I'm not sure what happened. | Who says we don't do this? There is literally no reason why we should tediously list out all the games they've been in, when simply saying they were introduced in Brawl accomplishes the same goal while taking up less space and taking less time to read. This should be redone. <span style="color: blue;">Alex</span> the <span style="color: red;">Weeb</span> 10:13, April 14, 2022 (EDT)

| :Fair enough, but I take issue with the reason given for the edits (future-proofing). With how shaky the future of Smash has always been all these years, especially now, making any sort of presumption that another game will be made is incredibly flimsy and possibly also against our guidelines. | ::Even I doubted Smash would reach 20+ games to list in 100 years, but I felt it was the best explanation for the removal at the time—if a bit of an extreme one. My bigger motivation for the removals is consistency. I'd rather not list out the appearances of some moves and not others. And yes, I feel this extends to the Ultimate newcomers' moves as well. Also, the game listing is somewhat redundant with the article icons serving the same purpose (though, to be fair, the icons are kind of hard to notice). | == About the R.O.B. edits ==
| |
| | |
| The Famicom and NES designs for R.O.B. were recently swapped for consistency with the default head icons. I applied this to other pages using R.O.B.'s "default" appearance to match this. It seems kind of odd to have pages use one design and others use the other design. I feel it should be one or the other for every page. | :There's been a discussion on Discord about this. Apparently there was an administrator decision to have the famicom default across the board despite Smash 4 and Ultimate defaulting to NES Grey in western regions. I think this is ridiculous and am pushing back against the changes, although it looks like that's going to be pushed back anyway. I don't know. | It appears that you reverted a change to the above page while said change was being actively discussed in the Discord server. Would it not be rude at best if the discussion was instead being done on the article's talk page? I think the same should apply here. Do not enforce your preferred revision of an article when discussion is in progress.
