| '''Perfect pivoting''' is an advanced technique in ''[[Super Smash Bros. 4]]'' that allows a character to slide a certain distance backward and perform any action out of it with a fast, correctly-timed input. It is performed by inputting a dash in one direction, then immediately tapping the control stick in the opposite direction and quickly letting it return to neutral.

| ==Applications==
| |
| Perfect pivoting acts somewhat as a more limited version of the [[wavedash]], as it allows a character to move backward whilst facing forwards and perform any grounded action out of it. This can be used for positioning and set up quick jabs and tilts. The technique is most useful with characters who slide a significant distance from it, such as {{SSB4|Captain Falcon}}.
