A status is an effect which modifies the stats, appearance, properties or size of a character, either temporarily or for an entire match. They can be applied via [[items]], [[Spirits]], [[Special Smash]] conditions, conditions from [[Special Orders]] or [[Spirit#Spirit_Battles|Spirit Battles]], and [[Stage]] elements.

Below is a list of statuses, their effects, and under what circumstances they can be applied.

| Metal || [[Metal Box]], [[Kalos Pokémon League]] (ironworks phase), Special Smash, Special Orders, Spirits, Spirit Battles || Increases the fighter's weight and fall speed significantly and grants heavy armour. Slightly lowers ground speed.

| Gold || [[Xerneas]], [[Golden Plains]], {{Rollover|Spirit Battles|Opponents only|y}} || Increases the knockback dealt by the affected fighter. Often coupled with a damage increase.
