So there's Project M. With a little bit of magic, you can change it to be basically your own game. This is a list of changes I've made to Project M.

==Costumes==
{{PM|Zero Suit Samus}} is now upgraded to her ''SSB4'' appearance, with some minor changes (such as her black alt more closely resembling the [[metroidwiki::File:Samus sm Screenshot 2.png|outfit]] from the end of ''{{iw|metroidwiki|Super Metroid}}''), and [https://imgur.com/a/NFSnW one alt] being based on Samus's own suit. Additionally, she has model replacements using [https://theportalwiki.com/wiki/Chell Chell] from the ''{{iw|wikipedia|Portal|series}}'' series, [https://spacechannel5.fandom.com/wiki/Ulala Ulala] from ''{{iw|wikipedia|Space Channel 5}}'', and [https://life-is-strange.fandom.com/wiki/Chloe_Price Chloe Price] from ''{{iw|wikipedia|Life Is Strange}}''.

{{PM|Roy}} has a new [https://i.imgur.com/HpJMxs9.jpg black and blue alt], an alt based on Link, and his [https://imgur.com/8nolfnO Project M 3.6 alt].

{{PM|King Dedede}} is now upgraded to his ''Smash 4'' appearance.

{{PM|Sonic}}'s purple alt is now based on NiGHTS from ''[[wikipedia:Nights into Dreams|NiGHTS into Dreams...]]''. He also has a custom alt based on [https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Tangle_the_Lemur Tangle the Lemur], from {{iw|wikipedia|IDW Publishing}}'s ''{{iw|wikipedia|Sonic the Hedgehog|IDW Publishing}}'' comic book series.

{{PM|Mario}} and {{PM|Luigi}} are upgraded to their ''Ultimate'' appearances.

{{PM|Meta Knight}}'s pink alt is replaced with his Galacta Knight alt from ''Ultimate''.

===Trivia===
*Coincidentally enough (and perhaps a bit too fittingly for the mod), Chell's design in ''Portal'' is based on actress {{iw|wikipedia|Alésia Glidewell}}, who voices Zero Suit Samus in ''Smash''.
*When R.O.B. is being grabbed, in hitstun, being Star KO'd/Screen KO'd, in his "lying on the ground" animation, drowning, or has broken his shield, all while using the Wii alt, you can find a copy of Brawl outside of where the disc would go on a regular Wii. In addition, when normally using Wii R.O.B., the Wii is turned on, indicated by a green light; when in any of the listed circumstances, the Wii is off, indicated by a red light.
**Interestingly, the copy of Brawl is a PAL copy, not an NTSC one.
**In addition, the N64 and GameCube variants have a copy of their respective [[Smash 64|Smash]] [[Melee|games]], and the NES variant has a copy of ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' inside.
**What's interesting to note is that the on-screen appearance egg, side special egg, and egg shield use the regular green color.
*Gray Fox shows up as normal Fox in All-Star Mode, for some reason.
*Interestingly, the Ken alt for Lucario is just his Shiny alt (from vPM) with a red outfit.
*The mod for the Tangle alt only included a .pac file, presumably because it was a mod for 3.6 and not 3.5, so I had to {{rollover|custom make a .pcs file so I could use it in 3.5|plug it into Brawl Costume Manager, which automatically makes .pac and .pcs files for any costume replacements|y}}.
**The bottoms of the shoes even have "IDW" on them.

==Stages==
Hyrule Castle is Bridge of Eldin once again, albeit with a unique layout with platforms and no walkoffs.

{{SSBM|Final Destination}} is replaced with [[Final Destination (SSB4)|how it looks in ''Smash 4'']], and {{SSBB|Battlefield}} is replaced with [[Battlefield (SSBU)|how it looks in ''Ultimate'']].

[[Temple]], [[Lylat Cruise]], [[Fourside]], [[Shadow Moses Island]], [[Pirate Ship]], [[Port Town Aero Dive]], and [[Brinstar]] are now flat stages, with Temple, Fourside, and Pirate Ship specifically being their Ω forms.

[[Summit]], while flat like it is normally in Project M, now lacks ice physics.

The [[Online Practice Stage]] is replaced with a [https://i.imgur.com/IDnlCcb.jpg ''Project M''-style training room].

[[Pokémon Stadium]] is replaced with [[Midgar]]'s Ω form.

[[Skyworld]] is replaced entirely with [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hGirxdKS7w a stage] based on the ''{{iw|wikipedia|Ace Attorney}}'' franchise.

[[Onett]]'s layout is now a duplicate of [[Smashville]]'s.

[[Spear Pillar]] is its normal self instead of [[Saffron City]], but with a Battlefield layout; it also has an additional new red variant where [[Giratina]] appears.

[[Princess Peach's Castle]] is now a traveling variant of [[Figure-8 Circuit|Mario Circuit]], retextured to look like a Rainbow Road track.

[[PictoChat]] is [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81wOwpI8_7g replaced] with [https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Aquarium_Park Aquarium Park] from ''{{iw|wikipedia|Sonic Colors}}''.

===Trivia===
*On the second phase of Amestris, you can see a bunch of still images of [https://fma.fandom.com/wiki/Alphonse_Elric Alphonse Elric], and, if you have a sharp enough eye, you can see [https://fma.fandom.com/wiki/Edward_Elric Edward Elric] as well (though he can be fully viewable if the camera is moved towards him).
*Temple actually uses its Ω design from ''Smash 4''.
*On Shadow Moses Island, if you manage to land one of Captain Falcon's powered up moves (discussed in the Other section of this page), the pillars will disappear, along with the platforms on them; however, the game thinks the platforms are still there, so you can (theoretically) stand in midair. However, like in the original Shadow Moses Island, the pillars will return to normal after a while.
**When the pillars do reappear, they look different during the reentry animation, but then snap to their regular appearance after fully reappearing.
*The acid still rises in Brinstar, but it affects the fight in no way (most of the time).
**There's like a 1% chance that you can hit the acid when off-screen, though I wouldn't recommend trying it.
**The AI still expects to be hit, so sometimes they just plummet to their doom.
***Oddly, they do the same thing in [[Distant Planet]].
*The platforms in Spear Pillar contain the hieroglyphic designs for Dialga (left), Palkia (right), and Giratina (middle).

{{PM|Falco}}'s head is now {{iw|wikipedia|Toucan Sam}}.

And {{PM|Meta Knight}}'s model is replaced with a shopping cart. Yes, you read that right: a ''shopping cart''.

===Trivia===
*In All-Star Mode, Aipom will, for some odd reason, show up as regular {{PM|Diddy Kong}}.
*Despite being a texture mod, Natsu doesn't use any weapons that Pit owns; his bow, shield, and even wings don't show up.
*When using Rosalina, all items are replaced with her wand.
*When using any of Daisy or Rosalina's moves (most notably, the [[Peach Bomber|side special]]), the eyes eerily moves to the far right, almost completely out of sight.
*One of Natsu's recolors is based on [https://fairytail.fandom.com/wiki/Gray_Fullbuster Gray Fullbuster], also from ''Fairy Tail''.
*Pressing A after the first hit of Ashley's down smash or trying to [[angle]] Ashley's side smash causes her to appear in a [[T-pose]]; however, this has little to no affect on gameplay, as you can move at any time. [[Perfect shield]]ing the attacks also seems to cause this.
**With the side smash, her magic wand is also included in the T-pose.
*In-game, Aipom has a much bigger head than Diddy; however, this doesn't actually change his hurtbox.
**Additionally, in some cases, his tail clips through his head.
*When using [[Vine Whip]] as Duck Hunt, he uses a chain instead of a whip. However, the texture for the chain seems to be some weird static-like gif. It's always moving, even when the game is stopped on a frame via the debug menu.
*Interestingly, in All-Star Mode, Samus's model is read as an older mod I had where it replaced Samus with Zero Suit Samus. I'm not sure why this is the case.
*With the exception of the command inputs, Ryu's moveset is mostly a one-to-one transition from ''Smash 4'' to ''Project M'', right down to the differing Final Smash; the mod also adds one new gimmick of its own, where Ryu can hold his down taunt if he's above 50%, and transform into [https://streetfighter.fandom.com/wiki/Evil_Ryu Evil Ryu], whose moveset features a new down special, a new dodge animation (based on the [https://streetfighter.fandom.com/wiki/Ashura_Senku Ashura Senku]), as well as incorporating the [[darkness]] and [[electric]] effects into some of his moves. His Final Smash also changes to the famous [https://streetfighter.fandom.com/Raging_Demon Shun Goku Satsu]; when used in the air, it is instead the [https://streetfighter.fandom.com/wiki/Messatsu_Gohado Messatsu Gohado].
**[[Focus Attack]] also uses the [[paralyze]] effect's animation, but, strangely, acts as a [[meteor smash]]. It also only requires holding the stick as opposed to tapping it twice to cancel, but said action acts as a [[dodge]], and, as a result, leaves Ryu helpless in the air.
*Likely as a side effect of replacing Wolf's moveset, Ryu can wall jump.
*Hilariously, Ryu has an recolor based on Ken, and additionally has a model swap alt of Ken (based on his appearance in ''Street Fighter IV''). The latter's Evil Ryu form is appropriately based on [https://streetfighter.fandom.com/wiki/Violent_Ken Violent Ken]'s appearance.
**Even more hilariously, in Wolf's alternate costume slot (for his ''Star Fox 64'' outfit) is Ryu wearing Wolf's default attire. This Evil Ryu form is similar to Wolf's own red costume, but lacks the purple shirt, instead being completely red.
**Other alts include a recolor based on Goku, and an outfit in a denim jacket and sweatpants. When becoming Evil Ryu, the former's hair glows yellow (à la Super Saiyan), and the latter's jacket gains a kanji that I can't quite make out.
*Ryuko has costumes based on her [https://kill-la-kill.fandom.com/wiki/File:Ry%C5%ABko_Matoi_body_(Senketsu_non-active).png default appearance], her [https://kill-la-kill.fandom.com/wiki/File:Body4.png Synchronized appearance], her [https://kill-la-kill.fandom.com/wiki/File:Ry%C5%ABko_Matoi_body_(Street_Clothes).png appearance in the first (and last) episode], her [https://kill-la-kill.fandom.com/wiki/File:OP2_Ryuko_SchoolRaids.jpg outfit after Senketsu got stolen from her], her underwear, and, surprisingly, the [https://attackontitan.fandom.com/wiki/Survey_Corps Survey Corps] uniform from ''Attack on Titan''.
**Satsuki's costumes are more simplistic recolors, though one of them is based on Ryuko herself.
*Satsuki's warp circle in her on-screen appearance is weirdly slanted.
*{{PM|Kirby}} has a mod over him to make his Ike copy ability resemble Ryuko's hair.
*Separate from Peach's Ariel costume is [[Toad]] being replaced by [https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Flounder Flounder], also from ''The Little Mermaid''. He's in all of the alts because he's tied to a separate file of Peach's.

==Voices==

===Trivia===
*I originally had a mod that replaced Marth's model with Lucina's, and had his voice clips replaced to match; despite changing his model from Lucina to Satsuki, I kept Lucina's voice clips because Satsuki is female.
*Because Ryuko is voiced by {{iw|wikipedia|Erica Mendez}} in English, and there exist next to no voice clips without background effects outside of the ''Kill la Kill'' anime in English, some of Ryuko's voice sounds actually come from the ''{{iw|wikipedia|Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures|video game}}'' video game, in which Mendez voiced [[Pac-Man]] (taking over for {{iw|wikipedia|Erin Mathews}}). There do exist references to ''Kill la Kill'' within a few of her quotes, however:
**She namedrops [https://kill-la-kill.fandom.com/wiki/Senketsu Senketsu] in her up taunt, who, funnily enough, is voiced by {{iw|wikipedia|David Vincent|actor}} in English, the voice of [[Robin]] and [[Richter]].
**Her side taunt is from Episode 3 of the series, where she provokes Satsuki due to her "warm welcome" towards Ryuko.
**Her Final Smash quote dubs [[Great Aether]] as her [https://kill-la-kill.fandom.com/wiki/Ry%C5%ABko_Matoi#Former_Powers_and_Abilities Decapitation Mode].
**The mod is incomplete, however, as she does keep Ike's victory quotes.

*With the Sound Test menu, the .pac files available to change text in via BrawlBox allow you to change the names of the series categories and the source of the tracks. However, the latter changes ''all'' instances of a game's name being used, rather than specific uses (so, for instance, I could change ''Pikmin'' to ''Baten Kaitos Origins'', but that would mislabel Wild Woods, Risky Romp, and Frog Forest as being from ''Baten Kaitos Origins''). I've made exactly one change with the text simply because it worked out, though: the ''Kid Icarus'' category is now ''Ace Attorney'', and the Sound Test properly reads "Source: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney".
*There are some songs I've replaced that aren't in the Sound Test:
**Master Hand's theme is replaced with {{SSB4MusicLink|Super Smash Bros.|Master Hand|his theme from ''Smash 4''}}.
**DJ K.K. is replaced with [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNtZElH9OZA K.K. Jazz].

==Other==
{{PM|Captain Falcon}} has an interesting, yet hilarious mod for his moveset; his [[dash attack]], [[Knee Smash|forward air sweetspot]], [[Falcon Punch|neutral special]], and [[Raptor Boost|side special]] all cause 999% damage, make a huge explosion that engulfs the entire stage and then some, and makes all opponents die.

{{PM|Mario}}'s Fire costume has a golden [[Metal Box|metal]] texture color.

{{PM|Ness}}'s forward smash uses the SMAAAASH!! sound effect from {{b|EarthBound|game}}.

{{PM|Sonic}}'s metal texture is now a solid blue, referencing [https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Sonic_Heroes#Metal_Heroes the Metal Heroes easter egg] from ''Sonic Heroes''.

{{PM|Peach}}'s metal texture is [[mariowiki:Pink Gold Peach|pink]].

{{PM|Roy}}'s [[jump]]ing animation now matches the one he has in ''Smash 4''.

===Trivia===
*Captain Falcon's mod makes it so his dash attack also has the flames from the Falcon Punch.
*Mario's Cape uses a random texture when it can. However, it doesn't show up as black initially; it shows a color similar to Mario's overalls.
*Because Mr. Game & Watch's model is now fully animated, it leads to some...interesting views, to say the least.
**Also worth noting is the fact that he remains three-dimensional on [[Flat Zone 2]].
*For whatever reason, jumping while using [[Octopus]] causes the game to crash.
*The ''Smash 4'' All-Star Rest Area uses portraits for each character as they appear in ''Smash 4'', with the following exceptions:
**The {{PM|Ice Climbers}} and {{PM|Wolf}} use their trophy poses from ''Smash 4''.
**{{PM|Sheik}} and {{PM|Zero Suit Samus}} do not use their portraits, regardless of who is fought in All-Star Mode, as they are not separate from {{PM|Zelda}} and {{PM|Samus}}, respectively.
**{{PM|Snake}} has a non-existent portrait, instead having an image with a random number on it. When the game is paused, it is replaced with the text "Back: Quit: +".
**{{PM|Marth}} and {{PM|Roy}} share an icon, due to both ''Brawl'' not having an icon spot for Roy and ''Project M'' not adding one in.
**{{PM|Wario}}, despite being defaulted to his overalls in ''Project M'', has his biker portrait. Weirdly, his head icon is also changed.
**{{PM|Charizard}} does not appear in the icons, despite having one of his own from ''Smash 4''. Instead, the fourth slot goes to {{PM|Mewtwo}}, who does not use his appropriate portrait from ''Smash 4''.
*Strangely enough, it is possible to SD on the new All-Star Rest Area. You don't respawn, though.
**Additionally, the stage remains untouched if you go into [[Boss Battles]], despite it literally using the same layout.
