In a statement, the tournament organizers of Secret Wars stated that they decided to invite Samsora after contacting 12G, the organization who unbanned Samsora in New York tournaments, as well as discussion amongst community leaders and members of the local community. They noted how Samsora was only allowed to attend their tournament, and was still barred from attending any other tournament in the area.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://docs.google.com/file/d/1JjZwswopUq_WVCkBTiDQg_LDCABWDVfY/edit?filetype=msword|title=Regarding Samsora's invitation}}</ref> Samsora ultimately chose not to attend the invitational.
