This invitational notably saw most of the Japanese players in attendance underperform: {{Sm|Tea}} lost to {{Sm|Atreus}} 1-2 and {{Sm|crêpe salée}} 1-2 in his Round Robin before being eliminated by {{Sm|Susu}} 2-3 in the final bracket for 13th; {{Sm|Gackt}} lost to {{Sm|Peabnut}} 0-2 and {{Sm|Wildz}} 0-2 in his Round Robin before being eliminated by crêpe salée 1-3 in the final bracket for 13th as well; and {{Sm|Neo|p=Japan}} lost to {{Sm|IcyMist}} 0-2 in his Round Robin before losing to {{Sm|acola}} 0-3 and crêpe salée 1-3 in the main bracket to place 9th (crêpe salée notably using his secondary {{SSBU|R.O.B.}} instead of his main). Even acola, who ultimately won the event, had a rough performance: he initially lost to {{Sm|Tarik}} 1-2 in his Round Robin before being knocked into the loser's bracket by {{Sm|Candle}} 3-2. acola eventually won the runback against Tarik in loser's finals and met Candle once again in Grand Finals, where after playing 10 games acola was able to claim victory. The 15 games between acola and Candle was notable for the large number of shieldbreaks, especially from Candle onto acola; in fact, acola ultimately won the tournament with a shieldbreak on Candle in the final game.
