Pound 3 was {{Sm|Mango}}'s first [[national tournament]] victory. After being knocked out of winners' bracket in the first round by {{Sm|Silent Wolf}} in {{SSBM|Link}} and {{SSBM|Donkey Kong}} dittos, he tore through the losers' bracket, defeating {{Sm|Cactuar}}, {{Sm|Forward}}, {{Sm|Azen}}, {{Sm|ChuDat}}, {{Sm|Cort}}, {{Sm|PC Chris}}, and finally {{Sm|Mew2King}} in both sets of grand finals to win his first national. As a result of Mango's performance in this tournament and other nationals at the time, {{SSBM|Jigglypuff}} had largely risen on the [[list of SSBM tier lists (NTSC)#Ninth tier list (October 14, 2008)|ninth Melee tier list]].
