The tournament was won by {{Sm|Gackt}} (1st seed). Gackt reached Winner Finals by defeating {{Sm|Jagaimo}} (3rd seed), {{Sm|Twinkle}} (15th seed), {{Sm|Brood}} (40th seed), and {{Sm|Logix}} (14th seed). Gackt would face {{Sm|Keroguchi}} (149th seed) in Winner Finals. 
Keroguchi had the surprise run of the tournament, making it to Winner Finals. Keroguchi upset 44th seed {{Sm|Mizuaka}} and 117th seed {{Sm|Mao}} in group stage, and 23rd seed {{Sm|Kuroitsu}}, 6th seed {{Sm|DoubleA}}, 35th seed {{Sm|Nyanko}} and 19th seed {{Sm|Banku}} in top 32.
Gackt would defeat Keroguchi in Winners Finals 2-0. However Keroguchi would defeat Brood in Loser Finals 2-1. Keroguchi would reset the bracket 2-0, before succumbing to Gackt 0-2 in the final set. In total Keroguchi made 9 upsets in the tournament, with particular large upsets against DoubleA (upset factor 10) and Gackt (upset factor 14).
Brood placed 3rd as the 40th seed with significant upsets over {{Sm|konbu}} (16th seed), {{Sm|Aiba}} (13th seed), Banku- and {{Sm|Abadango}} (2nd seed). While Brood was only seeded 40th, he had placed 2nd at the major {{Trn|Umebura SP 4}} just a few months prior. 
Some other notable upsets at the event included {{Sm|Reiyaku}} (130th seed) over Abadango (upset factor 13), Nyanko over Jagaimo (upset factor 9), {{Sm|Kikuno}} (72nd seed) over {{Sm|Ark}} (8th seed, upset factor 7),  and Mao over {{Sm|Arika}} (12th seed, upset factor 7).
