==Tournament summary==
The tournament's first stage, was a round robin group stage with the two highest placing players in each of the 8 groups progressing to winners side of top 32 and the third and fourth place finishers progressing to the losers side.  

The top 5 seeds of the event, did not drop any sets during the group stage. However, the 6th seed, {{Sm|Kyon}}, dropped sets to {{Sm|sdsg}} and {{Sm|banbuu}}, the 7th seed {{Sm|Crete}} dropped a set to {{Sm|kaito|p=Ikeda}}, and the 8th seed {{Sm|Lunamado}} dropped sets to {{Sm|MTK}}, {{Sm|samurai}}, and {{Sm|Minpon}}.

{{Sm|karaage}}, the 2nd seed, would progress through the event without dropping a set. Notably, the 1st seed, {{Sm|Raki}}, placed 5th after being upset by the 4th seed {{Sm|Tsuna}} in winners and Crete in losers.
