This event saw a cinderella run from {{Sm|Nicki}}, who first defeated {{Sm|Jmook}} 3-2 and, after falling into losers, eliminated {{Sm|Aura}} 3-1 {{Sm|Swedish Delight}} 3-2, {{Sm|Axe}} 3-0, {{Sm|Cody Schwab}} 3-1, and {{Sm|Zain}} 3-0, Zain having lost to {{Sm|Aklo}}'s {{SSBM|Link}} 1-3 for the second time within the last two majors. In addition, {{Sm|aMSa}} lost to Axe 1-3 and {{Sm|SDJ}} 1-3 for 9th while {{Sm|Joshman}} defeated both Jmook 3-2 and {{Sm|Hungrybox}} 3-1, his first win on Hungrybox. As such, this is the first ''Melee'' major since {{Trn|Epita Smash Arena 2}} in 2008 where there were no major winners in top 4, and the first event since {{Trn|The Big House 10}} where a new player won a major.

This tournament was the North American debut for {{Sm|Rarikkusu}} and {{Sm|Tora}}. Both players were ultimately able to place their seeds, though Tora took an early loss to {{Sm|Nanoash}} in pools.

This event is known for {{Sm|Lui$}}'s cinderella run to 3rd, marking the best major performance of his career. After losing to {{Sm|KEN}} 1-3 prior to top 24, he made a six-set losers run, including going to game five for all but two sets he fought in losers. This includes defeating {{Sm|MVD}} 3-2, {{Sm|Shuton}} 3-2, and {{Sm|KEN}} 3-2, before losing to {{Sm|Miya|p=Honshu}} in a tense game 5 set.

Outside of Lui$'s performance, however, the event featured little notable upsets on top players, and as such almost all the top 8 seeds made it into top 8. The sole exceptions were #4 seed {{Sm|Light|p=Connecticut}}, who had no plans on attending the event in the first place, and #8 seed {{Sm|Big D}}, who lost to #24 seed {{Sm|MFA}} 2-3 (upset factor 4) and #18 seed {{Sm|MVD}} 0-3 for 17th. The only other major upset in bracket was #42 seed {{Sm|Opsine}} defeating #12 seed {{Sm|Ouch!?}} 3-1 (upset factor 4). Conversely, this marked {{Sm|Snow|p=Japan}}'s first North American top 8, after having failed to place higher than 9th at his last four North American events, and {{Sm|MVD}}'s first major top 8 since {{Trn|CEO 2022}}.

Top 8 featured a rematch between the two best players of the season, {{Sm|Sparg0}} and Miya. Sparg0 easily won their set in winner's finals 3-0, and although Miya was able to win the first round of grand finals 3-2, Sparg0 ultimately triumphed over Miya in the reset 3-1 to win the event.
