The most notable event was #11 seed {{Sm|ShinyMark}}'s run, where he defeated #6 seed {{Sm|Gackt}} 3-1 and #3 seed {{Sm|Glutonny}} 3-2 (upset factor 4) to make it into top 8 Winner's side. In addition, #7 seed {{Sm|Skyjay}} upset #2 seed {{Sm|MkLeo}} 3-0 (upset factor 4), the first time Skyjay's {{SSBU|Incineroar}} has defeated {{Sm|MkLeo}}'s {{SSBU|Joker}} and {{SSBU|Pyra}}/{{SSBU|Mythra}} in an offline event. Finally, #1 seed {{Sm|Sparg0}} had a close encounter with #8 seed {{Sm|Sisqui}}, and Sparg0 stole the final game to just barely win the set 3-2. He then fought a grueling 5-game set against {{Sm|KEN}} where he made a 3-stock high-percent comeback on game 4 before winning the set 3-2. He followed it up with the quickest set in top 8 and defeated Skyjay 3-1 before winning the runback against ShinyMark 3-0 to make it into Grand Finals. Sparg0 ultimately won 3-2 despite Glutonny coming close to reset the bracket, winning his second Mexican major.
