The venue opened one day prior to the official event to allow for free play time as well as giving attendees an opportunity to pre-register in person and leave setups overnight. A special event, a 5v5 SoCal vs. Mexico crew battle, occurred at 4 PM on the event day, resulting in a SoCal win. The event was streamed by 2GGaming. With its final entrant count of 413 for singles, 2GGT: Mexico Saga became the largest one day tournament in ''Smash'' history, although it was eventually surpassed by [[2GGT: KTAR Saga]] with 414 entrants. | ||
