It was the tenth and final saga and penultimate qualifier of {{Team|2GGaming}}'s {{Trn|2GG Championship Series}}, and as such gave out double circuit points. The event was announced during [[2GGC: SCR Saga|SCR Saga]] on August 20th, 2017, along with [[2GGC: West Side Saga|West Side Saga]] and the then-unnamed [[2GGC: Fire Emblem Saga|Fire Emblem Saga]].

2GGC: MkLeo Saga was dedicated to top ''Smash 4'' player {{Sm|MkLeo}}, and featured him alongside other players from his home country of Mexico.
