A '''Ticken''' ({{ja|テキン|Tekin}}, ''Tekin'') is an enemy in [[Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary]] that first appears at [[The Plain]]. It appears as a poorly-made artificial creature that resembles a stout chicken, though upon defeat, its "body" falls apart and reveals that a chick-like bird was manipulating the Ticken before it flies away. The Ticken has a pair of attacks, one where it flies into the air and then attacks with an attack similar to the [[Bowser Bomb|Bowser]] or [[Yoshi Bomb]], which can [[buried|bury]], and another where it extends its comb and rams the player. Due to their defeat animation having their body fall apart, Tickens cannot be subjected to [[careening]].

==Name origin==
The enemy's name is a combination of the words ''tick'', describing what it does with its sharp comb, and ''chicken'', describing the appearance of the creature itself. It's Japanese name "Tekin/テキン" seems to be a corruption of "chicken (チキン)", as the katakana ''te/テ'' and ''chi/チ'' look very similar.
