The Path to the Ruins involves two characters; the {{SSBB|Pokémon Trainer}} (who only has {{SSBB|Squirtle}}) and {{SSBB|Lucas}}. He places Dedede brooches on Luigi and Ness but runs out. He then puts the one he intended for himself on the princess. Dedede then intends to make more brooches later. At that moment however, Bowser and his army break into the castle through the ceiling. A block of debris hits Dedede in the head, knocking him out and eventually turning him into a trophy.
