'''The Original Heavyweights''' is the first single-player [[event match]] in {{forwiiu}}. In it, {{SSB4|Mario}} must defeat the two heaviest characters in the game, {{SSB4|Bowser}} and {{SSB4|Donkey Kong}}. Clearing this event unlocks [[Kongo Jungle 64]].

== Progression ==
This event is available from the start. Completing the event unlocks the [[Kongo Jungle 64]] stage on the [[challenge]] board, as well as the right, down, and left paths. Once both the event is completed and {{SSB4|Falco}} is unlocked, the up path is unlocked.

* The music used in this event, ''{{SSB4MusicLink|Super Mario Bros.|Airship Theme (Super Mario Bros. 3)}}'', normally plays on [[Luigi's Mansion]], rather than Mario Galaxy.
* This event seems to mimic the {{b|Trouble King|disambiguation}} events from ''[[Melee]]'' and ''[[Brawl]]''. [[Event 1: Trouble King|Trouble King]] from ''[[Melee]]'' and [[Event 1: Two Trouble Kings|Two Trouble Kings]] from ''[[Brawl]]'' both feature [[Mario]] as the assigned character (though {{SSBM|Luigi}} is assigned in [[Event 42: Trouble King 2|Trouble King 2]] and Player 2 plays as {{SSBB|Kirby}} in the co-op version of Two Trouble Kings), both events are the first event in their respective games, and all three events feature [[Bowser]] as one of the enemies (the only one in both events from ''Melee''). Like the Trouble King events, this event is the first event available and has Mario as the assigned character and Bowser as an opponent.
* This is the only event that opens up more than two paths.
* It is unclear as to why Donkey Kong is stated to be Mario's arch-enemy in the description and fought in this event. It was Donkey Kong's grandfather (aka Cranky Kong) who fought Mario in the ''Donkey Kong'' arcade game. The current Donkey Kong and Mario are usually on good terms, more often that not. 
** However it should be noted that Donkey Kong does act as Mario's rival in the ''Mario vs. Donkey Kong'' series.
