The Light Realm (光の世界, World of Light) is the starting area in World of Light. After Galeem vaporized everyone who opposed him (aside from Kirby), Kirby crash lands into The Light Realm with the task of rescuing all captured fighters and defeating Galeem.

West part
Start area
This is where the player starts the game. The spirits are mostly of neutral types, so players can familiarize with Spirit battles. After unlocking a character, Master Hand creates bubbles blocking the other two characters which disappear when the player defeats at least one boss or can disappear individually if the player finds a route to defeat the blocked fighters.

Captured Fighters
Captured Fighters
Since Kirby escaped from Galeem's attack, he is the only fighter the player has available from the start. The other 73 base roster fighters (with Pokémon Trainer counting as one) have been captured and must be awakened for the player to unlock. Any downloaded fighters are simply unlocked after the player has awakened a total of 10 fighters. 42 of the 73 captured fighters are unlocked in The Light Realm. 10 of them reside in sub-worlds. Aside from Bowser, all captured fighters must be unlocked through a fighter battle. Mario is always awakened first, with the second awakening being a choice between Sheik, Marth, or Villager. After the second awakening, Master Hand appears and forms barriers over the two fighters the player didn't unlock, preventing them from being unlocked until the player beats one of the bosses or finds an alternate route back. The lists of fighters are organized roughly by order of appearance.
