What I'm thinking is that we should have two templates for each: minor buff/nerf and major buff/nerf. Major nerf templates could have 2 minus signs and be bolded (and similar for buffs), so it's easier to see if the character has been drastically been changed by just looking at the amount of changes. And also it's better for identifying how much a nerf/buff affects a character's metagame.Qwerty da beast 15:08, 16 July 2014 (EDT)

:Oh wait I forgot examples: King Dedede in PM has 11 nerfs, 4 of which I would consider major. He also has 33 buffs, 3 of which I would consider major. He was nerfed from Brawl to Project M, but his buffs outnumber his nerfs trifold, which is strange. This is actually what led me to thinking we should have another two templates.Qwerty da beast 15:23, 16 July 2014 (EDT)

:::I don't think we should need templates for two separate ranks of nerfs or buffs. That will be a waste of space, which is bad programming sense. Instead, if we are to do major/minor, we should have a conditional statement that checks if a variable is set to a certain value, similar to what the ArticleIcons template has. If it's not given the value in question, then there would be the alternative indicating a minor buff/nerf. Berrenta (talk) 15:14, 19 July 2014 (EDT)
:::I don't support this proposal. Whether or not a buff and/or nerf is considered "major" or "minor" strikes me as being too subjective to accurately judge. And I also see it as merely complicating the picture, both on the editorship end and the readership end.

:::This would seemingly cause a lot of unnecessary debates about whether certain nerfs should be considered "major" or not. Also, unrelated, but it isn't that simple to compare Melee/Brawl characters to their PM incarnations; there are many characters who are lower on CT's tier list not because they're worse as a character, but because they're worse in relation to the other characters. The intent of these templates was to move away from having "buffs", "nerfs", and "changes" subsections - and look what literally everyone is doing, they're grouping all the buffs, nerfs, and changes together, making these templates an utter waste. We should just delete them unless people start moving towards mixing them together as originally intended. :He's right. By using these templates, we have simply removed the changes subsections, and readded them with color. <s>And to Scr - Nearly every character in PM was buffed. Nearly. DDD was nerfed, Toon Link was nerfed, and Olimar was (severely) nerfed.</s>Qwerty da beast 15:54, 19 July 2014 (EDT)
