It's probably a good idea to add <code>|link=</code> here and suppress the link.

The flag images serve the purpose of small, almost decorative icons. The file description pages probably aren't where users expect to go if they click, and definitely aren't interesting results for search engines. Might even look overlinked or spammy, if the same flag is linked multiple times in a list of smasher names.
