| Links are not incarnations of each other- they are just Hyrulian heroes, who, by tradition, wear green. In my opinion, the current wording makes it sound like Link is a single character that can take many forms. | :Being reincarnated means your soul is transferred to a different body- what the page is stating is that the soul of the hero, Link, is transferred to many different Links, who are all unique but share the same spirit/soul of the hero and the Triforce of Courage, which is confirmed through canon. Although, it should be changed from "incarnation" to "reincarnation", as incarnation apparently means something completely different. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. | That makes a lot more sense. Thank you! Andymii (talk) 21:21, 23 May 2015 (EDT)

| My reasoning in the edit summary was flawed but after I published I did realize better reasoning: As mentioned on the page, Smash Bros., while featuring the Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass Toon Link character-wise, refers to him as the artstyle (much like Pokemon Trainer, who uses Red's appearance, but is a representation of all Pokemon Trainers). The other cel-shaded Link that he is shown representing in Smash originates from New Hyrule (Spirit Tracks Link), and other cel-shaded Links who have no mention in Smash are shown originating in Hyrule (Four Swords games Link and TFH Link). Since we list the most recent appearance and first appearance for the artstyle, shouldn't we list the homeworld of the other Links used in the artstyle (or at least Spirit Tracks Link, who appears and is referred to in Smash)? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by cupid♥. | :He's WW/PH Link only, honestly; the only reason I left the thing about "cel-shaded generally" at all is because of weird nitpickiness about Four Swords coming out 11 days before Wind Waker (and it's messier across regions), even though the artstyle is clearly Wind Waker's first in terms of development cycle. There's no need to note the other cel-shaded Links for any reason because the Toon Link in Smash mostly isn't representing them. | ::The page also mentions the Toon Link from Spirit Tracks in both trophies and Spirit Train description. If we're counting that as a separate character, technically those need to be removed. You can't really be picky with information. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by cupid♥. | Looking at it, Four Swords came out in the States a week and a half before Wind Waker came out in Japan; Wind Waker then came out in the States a week and a half before Four Swords came out in Japan. So...we keep the distinction that Miles set up? Because the game that came out first depends on which country you live in. | :The very earliest release of Four Swords anywhere in the world was in the US on December 2nd, 2002. The very earliest release of Wind Waker anywhere in the world was in Japan on December 13th, 2002. Therefore, Four Swords came out first.

| :That said, if we're going to represent the artstyle as a whole in the infobox for "debut", we should do the same thing for other fields (such as place of origin). ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. | ::Been a hell of a while since I've seen you active on here, Nutta.
| |
| ::That aside, the Toon Link in Smash is explicitly the one from Wind Waker (and, by extension, Phantom Hourglass), so I don't think an updated place of origin needs to be a thing. And besides, looking at it, Four Swords isn't set in any particular place in Hyrule.
