:I wrote the franchise description to this page, and while I obviously don't own this content (which means I wouldn't really have the right to object to any official decision on the site to restructure the franchise description the way you say), I'd like to express how I would justify the current franchise description's content right now. Each of the other universe articles' franchise descriptions are intended to be historical and modern descriptions of each series tailored specifically for Smash Bros. players who don't know much about what that series is about (despite having probably played around with its representative content in Smash games itself). Right now, every character-based universe has that kind of overall layman's description, and since this Smash Bros. universe article is part of the same collection of articles, it only felt right to give it the exact same kind of franchise description - a summarized description for new players/people outside the series or video games in general without presenting too much about its in-game technicalities.

:I would think that that other page about the [[Super Smash Bros. (series)]] would be the better page to consider a restructure of its franchise-describing content for, though it seems like it already does do some of what I would suggest for that - putting in more technical, Smash player-oriented information like the first game's exclusive occurrence of the Board the Platform mode, Melee's introduction of All-Star and Tournament modes, the exact number of stages and trophies in each game, Brawl's controller compatibilities, and a more in-depth description of the types and workings of [[items]]. Perhaps the Smash (series) article can be focused on as the "technical history" of the series whereas the universe article here serves as the "layman's history" like it does right now, and some redundancy between these pages could be passable in this case because the pages are essentially for "different audiences" now.

:Of course, all the rest of the content on this page should have a more layman-oriented rewrite to match the layman-oriented franchise description above it, like the completed [[Donkey Kong (universe)]] page...
