:Good question. Couldn't Samus or Kirby be considered Space Animals too for that matter? I always thought this term was for any character from the Star Fox universe. Gargomon251 05:46, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

::Yes. But it's always Falco, Fox, or (now) Wolf referred to. --Sky (t | c | w)`

 What similar characteristics do the Starfox characters share with Captain Falcon? Whoever did this needs to explain - CF, Fox, Wolf, and Falco have no common characteristics. - Runer5h

We could just remove the "Members of the group" section. It's pretty pointless as it is, since it's spelled out pretty clearly in the text who's in the group, and then we can just alter the second paragraph a bit if necessary to get across that several top-skill guys think Falcon is not one (it's mostly okay as it is but could possibly use more in-depthness). Toomai Glittershine The Metroid 23:49, 5 February 2013 (EST)

That's fine, the overall problem is the lack of a clear definition.--<span style="background-color:#6d84e1;border:3px solid silver"><span style="color:silver">Brian</span><span style="color:black">Don't try me!</span></span> 00:16, 6 February 2013 (EST)
:Official lingo usually lacks clear definitions. I made a couple minor revisions to adress the concerns here. Someone can do more if necessary. <span style="font-family:Triforce, sans-serif;"><font color=navy>D<font color=#190080>o<font color=#310080>c<font color=#490080>t<font color=#620080>o<font color=purple>rP</font>a</font>i</font>n</font>9</font>9</font></span> 00:20, 6 February 2013 (EST)
Replace page image.
Should we really be using this as the main image for this page?
It's of art that otherwise has nothing to do with Smash and would fit better under an "Origin" section (And even then, there currently doesn't seem to be a good place for it in that aspect, either). Plus, it shows a bunch of characters that either aren't playable or even in the Smash series at all.
I feel like a better picture for this page would be a group photo of the actual space animals (I'm favoring towards the shot of Fox and Falco facing Wolf in King K. Rool's trailer, but just an in-game screenshot is still fine enough). SuperSmashTurtles (talk) 01:30, May 8, 2019 (EDT)
Remove the images not related to Smash or the space animals term
Now that a Smash-related image showing all three Star Fox characters has been uploaded to this page, I feel it's time to remove the other 2 images as neither of them have anything to do with the space animsls terminology and they contain several characters that aren't even playable or even appear at all in the Smash series (the latter especially for the Star Fox Adventures image). This is an article whose title has been long antiquated, I almost never actually see nor hear anyone say "space animal" outside of this wiki since I got involved in competitive Smash in the early 2010s, whereas "spacie" has been unquestionably ubiquitous in usage for a very very long time now. Sure "spacie" can be considered shorthand for "space animal", but when the "full term" almost never gets used outside of this wiki, and when "spacie" also flows a whole lot better in written text and spoken speech, we should not keep promoting such an antiquated and clunky term by using it for this article's title. <span style="font-family:Edwardian Script ITC; font-size:12pt"><span style="color:forestgreen">Omega</span> <span style="color:forestgreen">Tyrant</span></span> 18:28, May 28, 2023 (EDT)
:Support. Also I think the Captain Falcon paragraph is outdated, I have never once heard him unironically called a space animal in the past 8 years outside of this page. --Meester Tweester (talk) 18:38, May 28, 2023 (EDT)
:Support. Space animal seems like an outdated term at this point. :Support. I also echo what Meester Tweester said and I think that whole paragraph can be removed. It was outdated over a decade ago. Levii (talk) 19:48, May 29, 2023 (EDT)
:Support, this term is very dated. I'd say go with "Spacie, sometimes referred to as space animal". --<span style="color: #e68;">Plague</span><span style="color: #e68;"> von Karma</span> 11:54, May 30, 2023 (EDT)
