I noticed that PSI Magnet was bigger than in Brawl, increasing its range. Or maybe Ness is just smaller (and so are his hurtboxes)... Tehplanefreak (talk) 16:12, 16 November 2014 (EST)

Ness's specials
* Neutral Special

** Rising PK Flash -- A PK Flash with a larger hitbox but less damage and control over its movement.
* Neutral Special - PK Flash -- A ball of energy that you can control that does harsh damage when it explodes. Disappears when hitting a platform. Face backwards while doing it to make it travel a longer distance.
** PK Freeze -- Freezes the opponent instead of damages.
** Rising PK Flash -- A PK Flash that rises up but less damage and less control over its movement.
* Side Special
** PK Freeze -- Freezes the opponent instead of damaging them sharply. Does less damage.
** PK Flame Pillar -- Shorter range, but has a bigger flame, lasts longer, and does more damage. However, it doesn't trap opponents as much.

** Flying PK Fire (Lucas' PK Fire) -- Instead of trapping opponents in the fire, it knocks them back instead.
* Side Special - PK Fire -- A flame that travels horizontally releases a flame pillar. Travels diagonally when used in the air.
* Up Special
** PK Bonfire -- Shorter range, but has a bigger flame, lasts longer, and does more damage. However, it doesn't trap opponents as much.
** Piercing PK Thunder (Lucas' PK Thunder) -- Goes through opponents. PK Thunder 2 goes through opponents also.
** PK Fire Burst -- Instead of trapping opponents in the fire, it knocks them back instead.
** Big PK Thunder -- Slower and larger. However, it does more damage and has greater knockback. PK Thunder 2 has a larger hitbox.

* Down Special
* Up Special - PK Thunder -- A ball of thunder can be controlled. Disappears when hitting an enemy or platform. It can be used to launch yourself into others, or in the air.
** Attraction PSI Attack -- Pulls enemies towards Ness and does damage when B is let go.
** Lasting PK Thunder -- Does not disappear when it hits an opponent. PK Thunder 2 goes through opponents also.
** Frontal PSI Magneet (Lucas' PSI Magnet) -- PSI Magnet is put in front of Ness and does damage when B is let go.
** Rolling PK Thunder -- Slower and larger. Does not travel/launch you as far. However, it does more damage and has greater knockback. PK Thunder 2 has a larger hitbox.
:I can add this to the page. Give me a few minutes. Aidan the Intermediate Gamer (talk) 13:56, 14 September 2014 (EDT)

* Down Special - PSI Magnet - A magnet-like field surrounds Ness and heals you when you absorb projectiles and energy-based attacks. Blows opponents away when released.
** PSI Vacuum -- Pulls enemies towards Ness and does damage when the button is let go. Does not absorb projectiles.
** Forward PSI Magnet -- PSI Magnet is put in front of Ness and does damage when the button is let go if enemies are trapped inside the magnet.

Yo-yo change
Shouldn't it considered a nerf (red) instead of a change (? blue icon) that Ness's yo-yo no longer has an active hitbox while it's charging? Though I guess it's also buffed in the sense that it gets stronger with charging, for once.... so maybe we could list both? I found a plethora of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U screenshots from IGN. == Forward smash ==
*However, Ness's forward smash has a larger hitbox.
Do you think that Ness's bat has a larger hitbox? Some people on SmashBoards say that it's much easier to reflect projectiles with Ness's bat, because it has a larger hitbox. Tehplanefreak (talk) 14:51, 1 November 2014 (EDT)
Move names
So, what's our policy for the names of a character's normals? Almost none of them have official names, and yet there are a few pages where every single move in a character's moveset is named, like Mario and Greninja. Were these names created by something community-centric like SmashBoards, or did some guy just come in and name them all on his own and we were cool with it? If it's the latter, then I'd be up for giving names to the moves of several characters. == Villager countering Ness ==
Yes, Villager can gimp/edgeguard Ness very effectively. However, Lloid Rocket is stopped by PK Fire, which is a big deal considering its usefulness in Villager's Neutral. I don't think that Villager is a problem for Ness if you play patiently. TalTal8 (talk) 09:10, 7 January 2016 (EST)
:I don't think stopping Lloid Rocket with a laggy move is going to help you much. It's not really supposed to hit you from across the stage anyway. I don't know if Villager is an especially big problem for Ness overall, but then I don't believe Ness is quite as good as the page implies. "Advantageous matchups against most of the cast" seems like a bold statement. ::I concur on Villager countering Ness. If the latter is in a position where he is getting edge-guarded and is about to recover, Villager just Pockets his PK Thunder... and that's it. He can make Ness die at a very low percent. Further compounded by his powerful moves and his innumerable edge-guarding tools. -- <font color="Black">The 70's called. ::I PK Fire ignites after hitting Lloid Rocket. It limits Villager's options and prevents him from using Lloid to cover his approach. And you're right about the bold statement, I'll change it. TalTal8 (talk) 16:30, 7 January 2016 (EST)
Ness vs. Lucas edits
Its come to my attention that certain smash wiki users are inserting statements that Ness is debatably worse then Lucas and claim that Ness' results have been lacking and use this to back up their point. Now I keep up well with smash related events.
ZeRo recently posted this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5dyvRG3wCM&t=10s
In said video he claims that Ness' mains haven't been going to tournaments as much. This isn't really true. Shaky and FOW have both gone to Genesis 4 and 2GGC Civil war, 2 major smash 4 events. Shaky placed 33rd and FOW placed 49th at Genesis 4. At 2GGC Civil War, FOW placed 25th and Shaky placed 49th. So as far as representation and results, Ness is doing very well, contrary to what people are saying. Lucas' results are currently incomparable to Ness'. Ness' results are significantly better.
Understand that ZeRo is not only a Smash Brothers Pro Player, but he is also a content creator. Its not uncommon for content creators to say outrageous and unfounded things to gain momentum on their platform, which in ZeRo's case is Youtube. Another good example is ZeRo claiming that Falco is a mid tier. He knows its controversial, and that tends to equal views. Currently the statement that Lucas is possibly better then Ness' is a stretch to say the least. Lucas needs to gain better results and representation for this to be true, because Ness' results are by no means lacking right now. So for the time being I plan to remove the sections that include the "Lucas possibly better then Ness" sentences and the like.Nightgengale (talk) 02:30, 29 March 2017 (EDT)
Apparently this change happened sometime in one of the Smash 4 patches but its not listed on this page
Ness used to be able to PK Fire off an edge but it was removed in a later patch.RelaxAlax's old videos shows Ness capable of going off an edge by using PK Fire. I tried this in a later patch of Smash 4 but it doesn't seem to work anymore. By the way he was able to PK Fire off of an edge in Brawl. --MinorEdits (talk) 01:44, 31 January 2019 (EST)
