| OK. I'm starting to get a little pissed here. I stated DIRECTLY BELOW the special moves template that "The special moves posted have NOT been officially confirmed. Until Lucario is announced on the Smash Bros. website, please do NOT alter Lucario's special moves template in ANY way" and anonymous users keep changing them. If an administrator sees this, can you please semi-protect Lucario's page to stop this?

| I agree that pages like this should not exist; as a Smash Bros. Wiki, the site should only cover characters and properties that have appeared or at least even mentioned thus far in the Smash Bros. series. While Lucario may possibly be a new playable character, it has not been seen anywhere in Smashdom yet, so it gets no article. What I do think, however, is that every single little thing that ''has'' appeared in Smash Bros. games should be covered. I think every one of the 30 F-Zero X racers should get their own articles (though a merged article ''might'' be preferred, but I can't be positive) because all of their racing machines have appeared in both Melee stages and trophies, while there are actually a lot of other species of Pokemon that have been seen in Smash Bros. but aren't famous because they don't come out of Poke Balls; examples of these include the [[Geodude]] and [[Seel]] balloons in Poke-Floats, and in Melee's opening FMV a lot of otherwise unseen Pokemon such as [[Gligar]], [[Slowbro]], and [[Krabby]] are seen. Because each of these Pokemon are officially recognized video game characters who have made some sort of appearance in a Smash Bros. game, each of these should get their own articles IMO. Likewise, since Lucario has not appeared once in a Smash Bros. game yet, it should not have its own page, but if it does make an appearance later, it ''will'' have its own page.

| I suppose it is good to be consistent, and I won't edit the articles, but I really think this Lucario to be male. His "voice" is masculine (not just voice ACTOR, mind you, as Pikachu, widely considered to be male, is voiced by a woman, as well as Ash himself, among others), and even the Cresselia trophy, which mentions they are always female, still refuses to use gender-specific pronouns, so you can't really judge by that. Maybe it's the timbre or some term, but it just doesn't sound like a normal person so it's hard to judge. Compare Munchlax. | One thing to consider is Jiggly's Japanese voice. I'm sure they're both the same characters, but the "highness" of her voice is the result of 4kid's terrible VAs -_- [[User:huntercrunch|huntercrunch]]

| The fact is, Lucario simply cannot be considered "he" because Pokémon don't have genders. Granted, they ''can'' have sexes, but do keep in mind that gender and sex are not necessarily the same. By definition, "sex" refers to physical aspects (i.e. reproductive organs), "gender" is how one is interpreted by society. Nintendo's official stance is Pokémon do not have genders no matter what their sexes may be. I know, Snake's Codec calls Lucario a "he". It actually also calls Lucario a "he" in the description for Event 25 as well. I honestly think those were mistakes that were overlooked in the rush to get the game out in time. I suspect they'll be changed to "it" for the PAL versions. Besides, even if the particular Lucario in ''Brawl'' is a "he", it still doesn't belong on this page because this article is about Lucario in general, not the one in ''Brawl'' anyway.--[[User:Bman87301|Bman87301]] 03:43, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

| With the exception of maybe the last one (the Lucario in ''Brawl'' is almost certainly meant to represent the one from the movie),

| those reasons most likely ''are'' why Nintendo ultimately chose their gender-neutrality policy for the franchise. Regardless of the reasons, it ''is'' their official stance nevertheless. With the exception of the two instances in ''Brawl'', all official Nintendo materials (such as their strategy guides and the Smash Bros. DOJO!! site) continue to refer to Lucario (and all other Pokémon) as "it". | The bit in trivia about Lucario's inclusion in Sword and Shield is actually not that notable, as Squirtle, Ivysaur, Mewtwo, and Incineroar are found in the game's coding and could still be transferred via Pokemon HOME or obtained in Max Raid Battles.
