Tripping has a fixed occurrence rate of 1% for initial dashes and dashturns. The probability of individual dashes never changes. Dash dancing does not increase the "chances" of tripping, but it does increase the data set when looking at total probability of ever tripping at all. When looking at 25 dashes in a row for dash dancing, they each have a probability of 0.01 to trip, and the total probability of tripping at all (Which is identical to the probability of tripping when looking at dashing 25 times independently) is .22218. The total "chance" of a trip happening is the same, and dash dancing has no effect on the probability of a trip occurring. I don't know where this misinformation came from, but keeping it on an encyclopedia is only going to spread the misinformation.  Kink-link5 (talk) 20:26, 23 August 2012 (EDT)

:You are right that dash dancing doesn't inherently increase tripping, but I think the article meant that dash dancing is risky due to the trip chance. Since a talk hasn't been done yet. Personally, I've seen "dash dance" used quite a bit, so I'm not entirely sure if "dashdance" is right. It'd be more in-line with the way most techs are discussed on the wiki, too. That hyphen's gotta go, though. -<span style="color: #4952eb;">Plague</span><span style="color: #4952eb;"> von Karma</span> 03:33, October 31, 2023 (EDT)
