Weak support. The only reason I can see this being deleted is if there is no decent examples of a combo video. Other than that, yeah, it is a plausible reason for deletion. My only opposition is that a lot of people in the smash community appreciate combo videos, so even if it is self-explanatory, I can see this being used as a list of combo videos as well as the definition. So I just realized now this page got deleted, seven years late to this but better late than never. The deletion reasons given prior are just awful: Starting with the reason in the deletion tag:
"do we REALLY need this? Seems a bit self explanatory and a pema-stub"
Starting with "do REALLY need this", aside from not at all explaining the problem with this article, combo videos and montages have been one of the primary sources of Smash content creation since the dawn of competitive Smash, and many players have cited them as the thing that got them into competitive Smash. That's pretty damn notable I would say, not to mention we have a combo videos category and articles about individual combo videos that were particularly influential, how are we going to have said category and articles while not having an article covering the overall concept of a combo video? Additionally, what is "self-explanatory" about this article, and citing "perma-stub" as a reason for deletion is an outright violation of our deletion policy, an article's content being short is not a valid reason for deletion {while this article could certainly be expanded regardless).
"The only reason I can see this being deleted is if there is no decent examples of a combo video."
See the aforementioned combo videos category, while people could just add examples to this page...
"this could easily be a glossary entry without losing anything of value."
This article's already short content is too hefty for a glossary entry, and you certainly aren't going to fit relevant things into a glossary entry like what separates good combo videos/montages from bad ones, their influence on the Smash scene, and the examples of the most influential combo videos/montages.
"Why was this ever a page to begin with?"
Why was this ever posted as a serious deletion reason to begin with?
"Self explanatory. It's not really necessary."
Do I really need to explain how this is another bad deletion reason?
With that, I'm reopening the discussion to keep this page. I laid out my refutes to the above on how combo videos and montages are a notable aspect of the Smash community that should be covered by the wiki, and if solid deletion reasons aren't given, this page will remain up. <span style="font-family:Edwardian Script ITC; font-size:12pt"><span style="color:forestgreen">Omega</span> <span style="color:forestgreen">Tyrant</span></span> 09:37, June 18, 2023 (EDT)
Oppose Per above, combo videos are a noteworthy topic in Smash, plus weak reasons supporting deletion in the previous discussion. <span style="color: red;">Awesome</span> <span style="color: red;">Cardinal 2000</span> 12:16, June 18, 2023 (EDT)
Oppose deletion: Combo videos are among the most well known Smash videos that have significant relevance in the community, something like this is well worth having an article. Nothing else to add that hasn't already been said. Strong oppose. This is definitely an attempt at getting a competetively notable stub page deleted for no reason to me, when the article could just explain its topic in a few sentences. Whoever tagged this article may not understand this wiki's policies (not trying to be mean), especially SW:DELETE and SW:NOTABLE. I defenitely agree with you Tyrant that a strong and truthful reason should be given on how this page couldn't've been notable. A competetive stub tag seems more suitable than just outright deletion imo.
