Long sword
-Brawlmatt202, Feb. 11, 2007
When a character uses the sword, the length changes. Who has the sword at its longest? <small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by Pikazilla (talk • contribs) </small>
:I guess someone will have to play through and measure them... somehow. FyreNWater -  <small>(Talk • Contributions )</small> 17:09, October 22, 2007 (EDT)

Thin Sword
The blade of the Beam Sword in Super Smash Bros. is made up of only one 2D panel. Most of the time, it's held so that the side of the blade is facing the camera, but if the game is paused at the right point during an attack, you can see that it's not 3D (actually 2.5D) like all the other items. I came prepared - I took a picture! As you can see (or "can't see", as the case may be), the Beam Sword is invisible from certain angles. All of the characters and some of the items are made up by positioning 2D panels in 3D space and 3D objects are built up by connecting these panels, hence "2.5D", and most of the items look the same from every angle because of how they've been rendered, but the Beam Sword is done in a unique way. Is it worth putting this fact in, or is it slightly too trivial? -Meh, you can post it in trivia on my part. Its kinda interesting to know such small details, in my opinion. I think you should add it to trivia.VideoGameBoy (talk) 09:32, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Cleanup tag
I think the cleanup tag should be removed, since the article has differences between Melee and Brawl already. ==Inaccuracies==
"The Beam Sword is one of few unusual items Peach can pull out via her Vegetable attack, though the chances of this are slim (1 out of 58 chance). In addition, the behaviour surrounding the event is unorthodox for Brawl; in the first minute of plucking the item, the sword's range is severely decreased, as Peach will use her item throwing animation rather than her standard item swinging animation. After a minute, the item pickup sound will play and the Beam Sword regains its usual properties, though the player can also toss the sword and pick it up again to restore its proper attributes."

This is mostly true. The beam sword range is quite limited from the start when Peach pulls it herself. However, I'm not sure where the whole time-based attribute came from. I tested it myself, and after having pulled a beam sword with Peach, I waited at least a minute, and... nothing. The beam sword still had decreased range, and I did not hear any item pickup sound play. Also, Peach does not use her item throwing animations in place of her standard item swinging animations... She uses her standard item swinging animations in place of her special beam sword swinging animations.

I think it would also be informative to include the other ways to "restore" the beam sword, which are tossing it and picking it up again (already listed), Toad, parasol, up-taunt, and down-taunt. Those moves actually "hide" the beam sword visually, so I assume when giving back Peach the beam sword the game replaces the special pulled one with a regular spawned beam sword. I can make these edits in the coming days. Schmerpin (talk) 03:30, 28 June 2014 (EDT)
