There has to be something hidden in the depths of the internet that's flying under our (and potentially Wikipedia's) radar, because I highly doubt Smash is following information from a fanmade wiki about Tekken instead of Bandai Namco themselves. Old archives of one of the [https://web.archive.org/web/20140222170645/http://www.tekken.com/ English Tekken sites] and the [https://web.archive.org/web/20140601032302/http://www.tekken-official.jp/ Japanese site] lists a 20th anniversary event for December 2014, 20 years ago would be December 1994.
