Spring Man is one of the playable fighters in ''ARMS''. He was one of the first characters revealed for the game and is its mascot, though not truly the central protagonist according to producer {{iw|armsinstitute|Kosuke Yabuki}}. As his name implies, his design is themed around springs, such as his ARMS being extendable springs, his hair being coiled like a spring, and his [[armsinstitute:Spring Stadium|stadium]]. Spring Man is the newest contestant to join the {{iw|armsinstitute|Grand Prix}}, which he dreams to be the champion of. In his Grand Prix ending, Spring Man is seen in a suit with championship belts around his arms while walking away from a podium in front of several adoring fans. All of this implies that he won the Grand Prix, which has been confirmed in companion media. In the ''ARMS'' world, this Spring Man is the third fighter to earn the title in sponsorship with the Spring Gym and his immediate predecessor appears in the graphic novel series.

The {{iw|armsinstitute|Toaster}} ARM is a basic ARM in ''ARMS'' and is one of Spring Man's default ARMS. It functions as a standard boxing glove, but gains {{iw|armsinstitute|Fire}} properties when charged.

Rush is a mechanic in ''ARMS'' which allows a fighter to unleash rapid punches to deal large amounts of damage. In order to use a Rush, a fighter must first fill their Rush Gauge, which can be done through various means, primarily by dealing and taking damage.

Spring Man is an [[Assist Trophy]] in ''Ultimate''. He attacks his opponents using the Toaster ARMS and has a large range. After taking enough damage, he can attack with a {{iw|armsinstitute|Rush}}, a flurry of punches that can potentially KO opponents. He is also one of several Assist Trophies with the ability to [[air dodge]], which has a similar animation to his aerial dash that can be used to evade attacks in ''ARMS''. He can be KO'd to earn a point. He uses recycled voice clips from ''ARMS'' as well.

Spring Man has a spawn chance of {{Fractions|38|2086}}. He can be summoned on all stages in a standard versus match.

Spring Man is seen in Min Min's Final Smash, [[ARMS Rush]] and unleashes a flurry of punches alongside other characters from ''ARMS''.

Spring Man appears on the screen in the background of [[Spring Stadium]]. He also appeared in [[Min Min]]'s reveal trailer where he is first seen knocking out Byte & Barq on Spring Stadium and cheering himself on his victory. He then spots the [[Smash invitation]] letter and excitedly grabs it, only to be knocked out by [[Ribbon Girl]] before the invitation is ultimately claimed by Min Min.

In [[Adventure Mode: World of Light]], Spring Man is one of countless spirits captured by [[Galeem]] during his takeover of the universe. His spirit is located in the northern city section of [[The Light Realm]].

If the player has purchased {{SSBU|Min Min}}, Spring Man can be battled in the ''ARMS'' DLC Board.

Spring Man's Spirit Battle uses a {{SSBU|Mii Brawler}} puppet fighter wearing the Spring Man Mask and Outfit and is fought on the [[Boxing Ring]] stage. During the battle, the Mii Brawler's punches, elbow attacks, and jumping increase in power, referencing the punching and jumping gameplay mechanic of ''ARMS''.
