Quick Attack is Pikachu's Up B move.

After a short delay, Pikachu moves in a straight line in the direction in which the player's control stick is tilted, or upwards if it is not tilted. The high speed of this move renders Pikachu nearly invulnerable, but it's exposed at the beginning, middle, and end moments, when it briefly holds still. Quick Attack requires much practice before players can effectively take advantage of its two-direction functionality.
After a short delay, Pikachu moves in a straight line in the direction in which the player's control stick is tilted, or upwards if it is not tilted. Tilting the control stick in a different direction will cause another, similar burst. The high speed of this move renders Pikachu nearly invulnerable, but it is exposed at the beginning, middle, and end moments, when it briefly holds still. Quick Attack requires much practice before players can effectively take advantage of its two-direction functionality.

In Super Smash Bros., this attack did no damage. However, it was overall by far the strongest recovery. One of the reasons why Pikachu is top tier is due to his incredible recovery. Pikachu has multiple invincibility frames during the beginning and middle. It is possible to attack Pikachu in the beginning frame and the ending frame ONLY (also while Pikachu is in its falling animation afterwards). Due to invincibility frames also, Pikachu if done perfectly cannot be hit by constantly going down then up and up b'ing into the edge because the edge invincibility frames as well. This is demonstrated in an andgar video. The range of the up b also allows pikachu to go far out from the edge to edgeguard, see most of Isai's pikachu for examples. It is possible also to go the same direction twice by tilting it ever so slightly the second time (see andgar agan, called double quick attack). It is also possible by forcing pikachu to the ground during the second section of his recovery or first very quickly, it is possible to move around during it and combo. It is also possible using this to the taunt cancel into quick attack cancel into taunt cancel (etc). This was done in an andgar video also. Finally, it can be used to escape situations and can go through a portion of the wall in break the targets (used in world record board the platforms).
This attack deals no damage. However, it is by far the strongest recovery overall. One of the reasons Pikachu is top tier is due to his incredible recovery. Pikachu has multiple invincibility frames during the beginning and middle. It is possible to attack Pikachu only before and after the bursts. Because of this, Pikachu can ledge-stall indefinitely. The range of this move also allows Pikachu to go far out from the edge to edgeguard. It is also possible to travel with almost no change in direction between bursts. Pikachu can alternate between taunts and Quick Attack, each canceling the other. Finally, it can be used to escape situations and can go through a portion of the wall in Break the Targets.

Starting in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Pikachu can do light damage to characters it passes through. The attack has a huge range, but the second jump requires a minimum rotation of 38 degrees. It is overall weaker than smash 64 with less invincibility frames. You can also QAC (quick attack cancel)like smash 64 but it is overall quicker.

It is overall stronger in damage (5%, if hit twice by Pikachu pulling a 180°) but less range than Melee. It has more invincibility frames however by the edge. People use forward b to recover a lot more often because it has less range. It is possible to QAC after the first or second hit. See Phanna's brawl tech video for QAC'ing. Also, Quick Attack does not suffer from Stale-Move Negation, and so damage can be racked up by constantly pulling 180°'s through your opponents.
Pikachu can deal light damage to characters it passes through, being stronger in damage (5%, if hit twice by Pikachu pulling a 180°), but it has less range than in Melee. Thus, people use Skull Bash more often as a recovery move. It has more invincibility frames by the edge, however. It is possible to cancel it after the first or second hit. This move also does not suffer from Stale-Move Negation.

Quick Attack is a Pokémon move that does light damage (40 BA), and always goes first (if both Pokemon use Quick Attack, the one with higher speed goes first, as with ordinary moves).

It is also one of several speed moves that always execute before non-speed moves do.<ref name = "poke">2008-06-23.
