The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Water Shuriken (みずしゅりけん, Water Shuriken) is Greninja's neutral special in Super Smash Bros. 4.
Overview
Water Shuriken starts charging when pressing the special button, and is thrown forward when the button is released. The more it is charged, the bigger, more powerful and slower it is, and when charged for a sufficient duration it hits multiple times while pushing the opponent back. Uncharged shurikens only hit once and appear to be reasonably spammable. Unlike most chargable projectiles, the charge of the move cannot be stored.
Origin
Introduced in Generation VI, Water Shuriken is a physical, Water-type move of +1 priority, 15 base power, 100% accuracy, 20 PP, and the ability to hit 2 to 5 times per use.
Greninja learns Water Shuriken by leveling up. Additionally, Water Shuriken was one of Greninja's two signature moves in Pokémon X & Y, although the move has since been made accessible to Accelgor as well.
Customization
Special Move customization was added in Super Smash Bros. 4. These are the known variations:
- Stagnant Shuriken: Always hits multiple times, but remains in front of Greninja.
- Shifting Shuriken: Fires one of two types of shuriken, depending on whether the button is tapped or held.
- Tap Button: Throws a shuriken that launches foes upward.
- Hold Button: Throws a shuriken that passes through foes.
