:::DK's recovery may be long horizontally, but gains very little vertical distance. Jigglypuff's may be infinite horizontally, but not vertically. Ness's may be far, but is too unreliable to be good. Pikachu's on other the hand, has no flaw at all. Pikachu's is a great recovery in any situation, it also has invincibility frames and is very difficult to edgeguard. With these factors in mind, that is why Pikachu's recovery was considered the best in the original SSB. With increase jumping power in ''Melee'', Jigglypuff gained a much better vertical recovery and exceeded Pikachu's recovery but that was not the case in the original SSB.
