The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Cloud (クラウド, Cloud) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He was confirmed on June 12th, 2018. Cloud will once again be voiced by Takahiro Sakurai in all versions of Ultimate, albeit recycled voice clips. This is in spite of Cloud having an official English voice actor in the form of Steve Burton.
Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4
Aesthetics
As with all veterans returning from SSB4, Cloud's model features a more subdued color scheme. His clothing features subtle detailing. His model and textures otherwise appear unchanged.
Attributes
Cloud's Limit Break gauge is shown next to his character HUD.
Aerial moves
Neutral aerial has a smaller hitbox.
Up aerial's hitbox comes out later, preventing it from hitting grounded opponents.
Down aerial has a smaller vertical hitbox and has more lag.
Special moves
Cross Slash has a sleeker design inspired from Dissidia Final Fantasy instead of the brush-like strikes from Smash 4.
Cross Slash deals 4.9% more damage (19% to 23.9%)
Limit Cross Slash's strikes slow down significantly against shield.
Cloud can now grab the ledge at any point during Climhazzard's downward slash.
Climhazzard's downward slash has less endlag.
Cloud may not voice out once he manually obtains a full Limit Charge.
A fully charged Limit Break will lose its charge if it is not used within 15 seconds.

Trivia
- A section of Cloud's trailer pictures him using his side taunt with R.O.B. in the distance, who is promptly struck by Pikachu's Thunder. This is a direct reference to magic-casting and its animation in Final Fantasy, with Thunder being a basic black magic spell.
- Despite Marth now being voiced by his official English voiceactor (Yuri Lowenthal), Cloud is still voiced by his official Japanese voice actor in overseas versions, despite having an official English voiceactor (Steve Burton).
