He initially came to prominence during the ''[[Brawl]]'' era, where he established himself as the best {{SSBB|Lucario}} player in the world, ranking 27th on the [[2014 SSBBRank]] and 3rd on the Texas Brawl Power Rankings. He gained further recognition in ''[[Smash 4]]'' playing {{SSB4|Ryu}}, and was considered one of the best Ryu players of all time and the best Ryu player up until his initial retirement in early-2017. He is ranked 65th on the [[PGR 100|Panda Global Rankings 100]] and has taken sets off of players such as {{Sm|ZeRo}}, {{Sm|Larry Lurr}}, {{Sm|MkLeo}}, {{Sm|Mr.R}}, {{Sm|VoiD}}, {{Sm|Zinoto}}, {{Sm|ESAM}}, and {{Sm|Mr E}}.

Since his retirement in 2017, Trela has seen sporadic appearances in tournaments, mostly in the Houston area. He also participated in several tournaments following the release of ''[[Ultimate]]'', where he initially mained {{SSBU|Ridley}} but eventually switched to {{SSBU|Banjo & Kazooie}}; he has defeated {{Sm|Meme}} with Ridley and {{Sm|VoiD}} with Banjo & Kazooie.
