Syke attended his first Smash meet in 2004; however, being new to the game and not knowing how to [[dodge]], he was 4-[[stock|stocked]] constantly and humiliated by the other smashers.  He has since trained almost everyday, sometimes up to 5 hours at a time.  He entered the competitive scene by winning a tournament held by {{sm|King Mos}} in late 2005. A key player in Tech's [[crew]] line-up and currently the number-one player in Queensland ([[Queensland Power Rankings]]), Syke is in charge of the filming and documentary of the Queensland [[tournament|tournaments]]. He is regarded as the best {{SSBM|Marth}} player in Australia.
