On July 10th, a Southern Virginia [[TO]] named Winter made an announcement that Squerk would be banned from 4 different Southern Virginia [[tournaments]] until January 9th, 2020,<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1squnmi|title=Southern Virginia Ban Statement}}</ref> not citing a direct reason for the ban. In response to the ban, Squerk stated, "I’ll own up to my actions and accept it. I think this ends my smash career though, it was a fun 5 years",<ref>{{cite web|url=https://twitter.com/Squerk_/status/1149138117724692480|title=Retirement}}</ref> alluding to a permanent leave from Competitive Smash. Despite this, he has continued to attend local tournaments.
