He made his competitive debut in ''Smash 4'' as an {{SSB4|Olimar}} player. He dominated Kyūshū's competitive scene, winning nearly every Kyūshū event he attended which earned him the nickname "King of Kyūshū". He broke out onto the Japanese scene after placing 2nd at {{Trn|Umebura 22}} and gradually became one of Japan's best players. He made his first international appearance {{Trn|Frostbite 2017}} where he placed 5th, and since then has placed highly at many American events, most notably placing 3rd at {{Trn|2GGC: West Side Saga}} and {{Trn|Smash Sounds}}, becoming the only solo-Olimar player with multiple top 8 major performances. As such, he is widely considered the greatest ''Smash 4'' Olimar player of all time and was ranked 23rd on the [[PGR 100]] and the ranking's only solo-Olimar player.

In ''Ultimate'', he initially was a solo-{{SSBU|Olimar}} player, and alongside {{Sm|Dabuz}} and {{Sm|Myran}} spearheaded Olimar's large playerbase in the early metagame. He especially became the only Olimar player to win a major, which includes winning {{Trn|Umebura SP}}, the first ''Ultimate'' major, and {{Trn|2GG: Prime Saga}}, Shuton's first international major victory. Even after Olimar's nerfs in [[List of updates (SSBU)/3.1.0 changelog|3.1.0]], he remained successful with Olimar and notably won {{Trn|EVO Japan 2020}}, Japan's largest event in the early metagame. He eventually picked up {{SSBU|Pyra}} and {{SSBU|Mythra}} as a co-main in the post-pandemic metagame and piloted the characters to great success, including winning several other majors such as {{Trn|Seibugeki 18}}.
