He has had sporadic tournament placings; he had placed 17th at [[EVO 2013]], but 33rd at LanHammer 2013 about a month later, a much smaller tournament in comparison. Despite this, he has received high praise from many members of the community for his unique setups and tricky playstyle. This lead to his being called Northern California's "Hidden Boss" and his subsequent ranking of 29th on [[Melee It On Me]]'s [[2013 SSBM Player Rankings]]. Lord was formerly ranked 4th on the [[NorCal Melee Power Rankings]].
