Playstyle
Fatality implements heavy usage of dash-dancing, utilizing it for spacing, mind games, and approaches. He is known for his simultaneously flashy and incredibly devastating punish game, 0-to-K.O. combos, and impressive off-stage proficiency, being notable for his prowess at getting back on stage with a recovery as interceptable as Captain Falcon's. In order to KO his opponents (often times at very early percents) Fatality incorporates air dodge reads and a myriad of kill set-ups, all with style. He is also reputable for his consistent usage of footstool combos.

Fatality began actively competing in Project M tournaments in late 2013. Even before his dominance with the character in Smash 4 and Ultimate, he was considered one of the best Captain Falcon players in the United States. His first tournament was at Tipped Off 9 where he placed 5th, losing to PPMD and Plup. His next notable tournaments were 7th place at both Tipped Off 10 and Paragon Orlando 2015, with notable set wins over Lucky, MVD, Shroomed. Fatality switched his focus to Smash 4 upon the game's release, his last appearance at a Project M tournament was S@X 158 on July 13th, 2016.
Starting with Project M
The tournaments Fatality first competed, were in Project M tournaments. Even before his dominance with the character in Smash 4, he was considered one of the best Captain Falcon players in the United States. His first tournament was at Tipped Off 9 where he placed 5th, losing to PPMD and Plup. His next notable tournaments were 7th place at both Tipped Off 10 and Paragon Orlando 2015, with notable set wins over Lucky, MVD, Shroomed. He had shown his strengths as a player up to this point, but with Smash 4 on the horizon, Fatality switched his focus on Smash 4 and hasn't entered a Project M tournament since 2016.

2015-2016: Starting the Engine for forwiiu
Although his time with Project M was short-lived, Fatality's time in Smash 4 was his major breakthrough as a player. This showed his competitive potential even further, as he became the best Captain Falcon in the world.

During the first year of Smash 4, Fatality took 1st place at many locals, but he would struggle to get strong placements at important events. This would last until a 17th place finishes at CEO 2015. He was eliminated by Tyrant, but took sets off of 6WX and Day. Next was EVO 2015 where he placed 65th, his worst placement in a Smash 4 tournament to date.

His breakout tournament was at Super Smash Con 2015. He placed 4th at the event and took notable wins over Dabuz, Angel Cortes, and false, but he got 3-0'd by ZeRo and Nairo. A few weeks later, he placed 7th at SKTAR 4, taking more sets over notable players such as Mr. E, Rivers, and LingLing.

He had more notable placements with 13th at The Big House 5, taking a win over Pink Fresh, but falling to Ryuga and Zenyou, then 9th at MLG World Finals 2015 after failing to take game 5 from both GrimTurtle and Mr.R.

At 2GGT: Fatality Saga he ended the year with another top 8 placement of 7th, losing to Xzax and Ito at the event.

In 2016, his strong results continued at GENESIS 3. At the tournament, he had a solid losers run after his early loss to Xieon, eliminating Exodia, Big D, Angel Cortes, and Nietono. He fell to Larry Lurr, ending with a placement of 17th.
At smaller tournaments, he got 3rd place at FINAL ROUND 19 and 2nd at Paradigm Shift. In the latter tournament, he took sets from RFang, Puppeh and Aikota, until he got double eliminated by ESAM.

For PGR v1, Fatality was placed 41st on the rankings, is one of the two ranked Captain Falcon players alongside Tearbear.

His ranking on the system left room for improvement, but Fatality showed better performances in the second half of 2016. At MomoCon 2016, he was able to place 9th at the event. After losing 2-1 to Wrath, he defeated many players in losers such as 2-0s over Kola, C3PO, and ScAtt, as well as beating TheReflexWonder 2-1, before being eliminated by Ally. Later at CEO 2016, he took wins from FOW and Seagull Joe, as well as a win over Zenyou. He lost to Larry Lurr 2-1 and VoiD 2-0, placing 17th at the event.

He went to Super Smash Con 2016 and placed 7th, taking sets from Marss and DKwill. He had game 5 sets with VoiD and Dabuz, but ultimately failed to win either set. His set with VoiD is infamous for his play with Mario in game 1, being in disadvantage for the entire game until he secured two low-percent gimps.

He had another strong placement of 9th at The Big House 6, in which after he lost to Samsora 2-0, he defeated Pugwest, Cosmos, Ri-ma, and won against Samsora in their runback. His streak ended when he was eliminated by Marss 3-1.

Despite his strong placements at those aforementioned events, he attended UGC Smash Open and placed 33rd, being defeated by CaptainZack 3-0 and tyroy 3-2. Though at the end of the year, he garnered notable wins over kameme and FOW at 2GGT: ZeRo Saga. He placed 13th at the event after he got 3-0'd by both Larry Lurr and Dabuz

Smash 4: National debut
Due to placing well at every major tournament he attended - with the exception of UGC Smash Open - and having a few notable PGR wins, Fatality had a much higher ranking of 28th on the PGR v2, continuing his status as the best Captain Falcon player.
During the first year of Smash 4, Fatality took 1st place at many locals, but struggled to get strong placements at larger events. He finally found his first national success at CEO 2015, where he defeated 6WX and Day en route to a 17th place finish. Although he followed it up with a 65th place finish at EVO 2015, his lowest placement in a Smash 4 tournament, he finally had his breakout tournament at Super Smash Con 2015, where he notably defeated Dabuz before falling to ZeRo and Nairo to place 4th. He followed this strong performance with a slew of top 24 placement at national-level tournaments, as well as victories over top players such as Mr. E, Pink Fresh, and Nietono. With these strong results at national-level tournaments, many players considered Fatality to be the best Captain Falcon player in the world, a title that was proven when he was ranked 41st on the PGR v1, 9 places ahead of the only other Captain Falcon player, Tearbear.

Fatality started the second season with a few solid placements, with a 9th place finish at MomoCon 2016 and 17th at CEO 2016. However, he wouldn't see his best placements of the season until a few months later. At Super Smash Con 2016, Fatality defeated Marss en route to a 7th place finish. Although Fatality fell to Samsora early at The Big House 6, he made a Loser's run, winning his rematch against Samsora as well as defeating an up-and-coming Cosmos and the Japanese hidden boss Ri-ma before falling to Marss, placing 9th. Although he ended off his season on a slightly weaker note, with a 33rd place finish at UGC Smash Open and a 13th place finish at 2GGT: ZeRo Saga, his overall solid placements during the middle of his season helped him rise to 28th on the PGR v2.
2017: Continued Momentum
Fatality's best season
With Fatality now being a respected player in the Smash 4 scene, he started 2017 with two top 24 placements at both 2GGC: GENESIS Saga and GENESIS 4. At GENESIS 4, he defeated Javi 2-1 and Locus 3-2, with losses to Mr.R 2-0 and Elegant 3-2. He later placed 25th at Frostbite 2017, losing to both Ned 2-0 and Somé 3-0.
Despite these impressive results, Fatality's best season was yet to come, although it did not look like it at first. On the surface, his third season looked lukewarm: he consistently placed no better than 17th at nationals, and only defeated a couple of notable PGR-ranked players. Conversely, he fell to several PGR'd players as well as a couple hidden bosses such as Somé and Dog w/ Hips. Even regionally, he struggled against ScAtt, who stole victory from Fatality at two tournaments - Final Round 20 and Tupelo Titans Throwdown.

However, these lukewarm results were countered by some of his best performances ever. At 2GGC: Civil War, the largest tournament of the season, despite the many top player upsets that took place, Fatality not only managed to mostly avoid being upset, but also made some of his own upsets, including over komorikiri, Nairo, and CaptainZack. Although he fell to T, he was able to get his runback in Loser's Finals, but ultimately fell to Dabuz, placing 2nd. In addition, at MomoCon 2017, although he fell to Larry Lurr early in bracket, he made the best Loser's run of his Smash 4 career, winning his runback against Larry Lurr as well as defeating Salem, Kameme, and even ZeRo, before losing to Nairo for 2nd. These two placements prove that on a good day, Fatality was a force to be reckoned with, and by the end of the season he jumped all the way to 15th.
While the beginning of the year wasn’t much in comparison to 2016, a month after Frostbite, he competed at 2GGC: Civil War. Despite it being one of the biggest tournaments in Smash 4 history, it was Fatality's best tournament run in his career. After defeating Trela to make it out of pools and having a close 3-2 set against Kome, he defeated komorikiri 3-1, reverse 3-0'd Nairo in one of the most famous sets in his career, but was upset by T 3-1 shortly after. Despite this, Fatality continued to be a threat in loser bracket. He beat Kirihara who was on the brink of reverse 3-0ing him, as well as 3-0ing CaptainZack and T, the latter win putting him in grand finals against Dabuz. In grand finals, he took the first game off of Dabuz's Olimar but then lost the next three games after Dabuz switched to Rosalina & Luma. After Civil War, he got a much lower placing of 33rd at CEO Dreamland losing to both ZD and Rideae 2-0.

A period of inconsistency
His performance at MomoCon 2017 was a big improvement over CEO Dreamland. While MomoCon was significantly less stacked then Civil War, it was still a very notable run regardless. He defeated Sinji 2-1 and komorikiri 3-0 in winners bracket before losing to Larry Lurr 3-1. His losers run was the more notable part: Wrath and Salem 3-2; kameme 3-0; Larry Lurr 3-2 in their runback; and then fought against ZeRo in losers finals. His first two games against ZeRo were very quick, making a joke out of his usually threatening Diddy Kong and Sheik. ZeRo surprisingly picked Captain Falcon for the rest of the set, Fatality got two stocked in the mirror match for their game 3 but took game 4 in his favor, being the first and only time he took a set over ZeRo. He lost to Nairo 3-2 in grand finals and was the runner-up at the event.
Unfortunately, he did not see any of these explosive performances in the fourth season. Once again, he failed to place higher than 17th at any major tournament and consistently fell to other PGR players. At the 2GG Championship, he was only able to win one game - against Elegant, and ultimately placed 15th. Even at lower-ranked tournaments Fatality fell to unranked players such as SuperGirlKels and Kresent. His season was saved by a couple of good wins as well as his victory at Showdown: Battle Royale 2, but he ultimately fell to 38th, his worst season since the first.

Fortunately, Fatality was able to pull himself together for the fifth season. Despite a characteristic 17th place at GENESIS 5, he followed it up with his first top 8 at a major since MomoCon 2017 - Frostbite 2018 - where he ran through Salem and Cosmos to place 5th. His next notable placement came a month later at Smash Masters League: Battle for Vegas, where despite falling to VoiD early on, he once again made an impressive Loser's run, defeating Ally, Salem, Larry Lurr, and Cosmos before falling to MkLeo for 4th. Although the rest of the season saw a series of high and low points - from a disappointing 25th place finish at Get On My Level 2018 to yet another respectable Loser's run at CEO 2018 - these two tournaments showed that Fatality could compete against the scene's newest players, and by the end of the season, Fatality jumped back into the top 15, placing 14th.
Before the season came to a close, he placed 17th at CEO 2017, beating kameme and MuteAce in the process. He was ranked 15th on the PGR v3, a major jump with his Civil War and MomoCon tournament runs being noteworthy reasons.

With the next Smash game on the horizon, Fatality prepared to make the transition to the new game, which resulted in a rather characteristic season, where he placed outside of the top 8 at the final 2 majors he attended and failed to pick up any notable PGR wins. Despite this weak ending, his highs highlighted his Smash 4 career, and the panel-based PGR 100 ranked him as Smash 4s 19th best player.
He started the next season with EVO 2017, it was another underperformance of 2017, placing 33rd after losing to Mistake and 9B. A week later, he placed 17th at DreamHack Atlanta 2017, being double eliminated by Mr E. He was able to place 5th at Get On My Level 2017 after those two events, falling to SuperGirlKels and Larry Lurr, but didn't take wins over currently ranked PGR players at the event.
He then placed 17th back-to-back at both Super Smash Con 2017 and 2GGC: SCR Saga. He lost to Salem 3-2 and Tweek 3-1 in the former and Nairo 3-0 and kameme 3-2 in the latter. A month later, he did take 1st place at a small but still notable tournament with Showdown: Battle Royale 2, defeating Rivers, WaDi, and double eliminated Manny. Shortly after, he underperformed at another notable tournament with 25th at GameTyrant Expo 2017, losing to ANTi and Zenyou.

Ultimate: A rough start
His placements at 2GGC: GENESIS, Civil War, and SCR Saga qualified Fatality to attend 2GG Championship. However, he came in last place along with four other qualifiers, losing 3-0 in pools against ZeRo, Elegant, and Larry Lurr. This would be his last tournament of 2017.
During the transition from Smash 4, Captain Falcon received changes that made the character harder to play, resulting in a smaller playerbase than what the character saw in Smash 4. Despite this, Fatality continued to stick with the character and pioneered the character's metagame. Unfortunately, this effort didn't seem to pay off at the start, as during the first season, Fatality saw some of his worst performances ever. Similar to most seasons, he once again placed no higher than 17th at majors, while he placed 65th at GENESIS 6, falling to MkLeo and Captain L, and 97th at Pound 2019, falling to SciFire and Lemon. His season was saved by his regional performances, specifically his top 6 finishes at Smashpoint, Just Roll With It! 11, and 2GG: Grand Tour - South Carolina, tournaments where he saw a win over a PGR player. Due to a more lenient algorithm for the first season, these regional performances were enough for Fatality to be ranked 48th on the first PGRU.

However, the new algorithm was not lenient on him for the second season, which was by far Fatality's worst season yet. He only placed higher than 17th at one PGR-ranked tournament - his 9th place finish at Syndicate 2019 - and only garnered one PGR win - over Kola. Conversely, Fatality placed 129th at EVO 2019 - his worst performance up to that point - and consistently lost to non-PGR players such as Beastly at Low Tier City 7, Monty at The Big House 9, and at both EVO 2019 and Syndicate 2019. Due to the slew of mediocre performances and unranked losses, Fatality was absent from the Fall 2019 PGRU, his first absence from a PGR list, while some people began casting doubt on Fatality's title as the best Captain Falcon player due to strong, albeit limited, major results from NickC.
The second half of 2017 never achieved the peak of the first half for the year for Fatality, placing out of top 16 at many notable tournaments, PGR v4 was a great drop with 38th place on the rankings

Online era and resurgence
2018: The Final Lap for Smash 4
This poor season, however, did not deter Fatality, and he went into the third season hoping for something better, and initially, it looked like it was going in Fatality's favor. At his first major, Glitch 8 - Missingno, Fatality managed to place just outside of the top 8 while defeating LeoN, his best win since the first season. Although he had a mediocre Frostbite 2020, he was able to place top 8 at Clash Of The Carolinas III, his first top 8 at a PGR tournament since 2GG: Grand Tour - South Carolina nearly a year before.

Unfortunately, the season was cut short after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the offline metagame, and Fatality moved into the growing online metagame. However, Fatality's transition to the online metagame was rough, as throughout the next year, he failed to place higher than 49th at almost all of the major online tournaments he attended. However, he saw a glimpse of success at Ultimate Naifu Wars 12, where he ran through Scend, Middy, and MkLeo to place 3rd. This performance greatly helped him that online season, and he was ranked 61st on the Wi-Fi Warrior Rank v5.
2018 would be a very strong year for Fatality, though he didn't have the same breakthroughs with Captain Falcon that he had in 2017. While he was upset by both Peli and Maister at GENESIS 5, he still placed 17th after taking sets from Deluxemenu, Cagt, and Aarvark in losers bracket.

During the online metagame, Captain Falcon received several buffs that addressed several of the character's problems, and Fatality capitalized on the buffs as he labbed the character. While it did not pay off during the online metagame, it was about to make him a threat once the offline metagame returned. At InfinityCON Tally 2021, the first national tournament since CEO Dreamland 2020, Fatality was able to show that he still had it in him by placing 5th, defeating the rising stars Grayson and Epic_Gabriel along the way. This tournament was only a taste of what Fatality could do, and at the next few majors he attended, he ended up placing no lower than 17th. This performance was hindered by the fact that he only defeated a couple of notable players during this time, as well as a mediocre 33rd at Mainstage. However, Fatality followed this with his best Ultimate run yet at CEO 2021, where despite falling to Toast early in bracket, he made his first ever Loser's run in Ultimate, defeating the rising star Jake and veteran players WaDi, ESAM, and MVD, en route to a 4th place finish. This performance, as well as consistently high placements at majors, helped put Fatality back on the map, and he was placed in the B-tier, or top 24, on the PGRUContenders North America, as well as 33rd on the Ultimate: Eclipse.
Then was a short but strong streak of tournaments for Fatality. First was 5th place at Frostbite 2018, defeating Mew2King, Salem, and Cosmos, but lost to both Mistake and in his runback with Salem. He took second place at King of the Springs 3, taking sets from Dabuz, Cosmos, Samsora, and WaDi, but was double eliminated by Tweek. At Smash Masters League: Battle for Vegas, he had a very notable loser run after VoiD reverse 3-0'd him, eliminating Xzax, Salem, Larry Lurr, Cosmos, and most notably, Ally. He placed 4th after a reverse 3-0 by MkLeo after he made the switch to Bayonetta and cleaned up his play after his infamous self-destruct in game 2.

With his strongest Ultimate season behind him, Fatality was looking better than ever in 2022, and he was able to continue his strong performances in the first season by placing top 24 at every major he attended except GENESIS 8. This time, he was able to garner some notable wins at each tournament: Anathema and Ned at Let's Make Big Moves 2022, Riddles and WaDi at Glitch - Infinite, and ProtoBanham at Smash Ultimate Summit 4. However, his season was not without downsides, which while not terrible, certainly affected his final standings for the season. Despite defeating ProtoBanham, he failed to win any other set at Summit and ended up placing 13th. His remaining majors, while solid, were also largely empty brackets as the only national-level win he got during these tournaments was Wrath, a player who had only attended a handful of tournaments that season and thus was ultimately not ranked on most global rankings. Due to a rather empty second half of the season, Fatality didn't make any notable improvements on the global rankings, maintaining his 33rd place ranking on the Mid-Year 2022 and dropping out of the top 24 to 37th on the PGRU v3 NA.
The next few tournaments were weaker performances, but still solid throughout. He attended MomoCon 2018 where he defeated NAKAT 2-0 and Komorikiri 3-0. He got sent to losers by Nairo 3-0 and was eliminated by Wrath 3-2. He placed 9th at the event, a much less dominant run than the year before. He placed 13th at CEO 2018 with losses to Raito and Tweek, but had a notable loser run with wins over Sinji, Mistake, and Larry Lurr. At Showdown: Battle Royale 3, Fatality placed 7th and defeated yeti and Blacktwins in the process, but lost to Larry Lurr and Zinoto.

His second half of the year was largely the same: although he still placed highly at most majors, most of his runs were rather empty, and he only picked up a few solid wins. His strongest performances were at the supermajors Super Smash Con 2022 and Let's Make Moves Miami, where he placed 13th at both tournaments and defeated players such as Cosmos, BassMage, and ApolloKage. Conversely, his season was brought down by some lukewarm performances such as 65th at Double Down 2022 after losing to Goblin and RyuKai and 9th at the super regional BOSS BATTLES: Phase 1 after losing to Lucretio and Sandro. His strong highs but disappointing lows led to his 46th place ranking on the inaugural 2022, a ranking that roughly covered the second half of the year; however, his strong major placements kept him from slipping too much on OrionRank, as he only dropped four places to 37th on the 2022.
With the aforementioned streak of top 8s and continuing to gather notable wins afterward, he jumped up nearly 25 places from the PGR v4, and was ranked 14th on the PGR v5, his best placement on the system.

Retirement
For the remainder of the year, he garnered placements of 3rd at Smash Factor 7 and 17th at Super Smash Con 2018. But after Super Smash Con 2018, Fatality didn't attend any major tournaments for a few months until DreamHack Atlanta 2018. At the tournament, he defeated Epic_Gabriel, Ryo, and RFang before losing to both Tweek and Dark Wizzy, ending with placement of 9th.
Despite having a successful two years, Fatality's motivation for the game had been declining as he began losing interest in competition. This was the most apparent in the new year, in which despite having a respectable 13th place finish at MomoCon 2023, saw Fatality's worst performances of his career, as he failed to place top 32 at a single major. This included going 1-2 at Maesuma TOP 12 after losing to Hamachi and Rumiru to get 257th, his worst placement ever, and placing 193rd at Super Smash Con 2023, losing to Creepooba and Skew. In addition, the year saw another Captain Falcon player finally overtake Fatality, as Jogibu's strong performances at majors landed him at 25th on the Mid-Year 2023; conversely, Fatality was left unranked for the first time since the Fall 2019 PGRU. All of these factors ultimately reinforced Fatality's decision to retire, which he did so following Super Smash Con 2023, in favor of focusing on the newly-released Street Fighter 6.

Playstyle
DreamHack Atlanta 2018 was the last tournament to be ranked on the PGR and is currently the last Smash 4 tournament Fatality has attended. With Ultimate about to be released, the whole competitive scene for Smash 4 switched their focus to the game, including Fatality. On the PGR 100, he was ranked the 19th best Smash 4 player in the world, made possible with his sure dedication of playing solo Captain Falcon at top level.
Fatality implements heavy usage of dash-dancing, utilizing it for spacing, mind games, and approaches. He is known for his simultaneously flashy and incredibly devastating punish game, zero-to-death combos, and impressive off-stage proficiency, notably his prowess at getting back on stage with a recovery as intercept-able as Captain Falcon's. In order to KO his opponents (often times at very early percents) Fatality incorporates air dodge reads and a myriad of kill set-ups, all with style. He is also reputable for his consistent usage of footstool combos.

Late 2018-2019: Struggles in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
At first, Fatality had a decent start in the very early metagame of Ultimate. He placed 9th at Super Splat Bros, falling to a reverse 3-0 by Ally and Teb 3-2. Later at Midwest Mayhem Ultimate, he took 7th place, as he lost to Bushi 3-1 and T 3-2.

GENESIS 6 was his first tournament with uncharacteristically low placement. He was defeated by MkLeo in a 2-0 set, falling to even take one stock off of him. He lost to Captain L in losers which put him at 65th, the first time he placed outside of top 64 since EVO 2015.

He had a better placement at a supermajor with Frostbite 2019. After losing in a 2-0 against Nairo, he went on a notable losers run, defeating Mr. E 3-2, 3-2, ZD 3-1, until he lost 3-1 to Wishes, placing 17th. He then had his worst placement at a tournament up to that point, with 97th at Pound 2019, losing to SciFire 2-1 and Lemon 2-0.

Rankings
After Pound 2019, it was starting to look better for Fatality. He placed 25th at MomoCon 2019, as he lost 3-0 by both Cosmos and Myran. His next tournament was DreamHack Dallas 2019 in which he defeated Sandstorm 2-0 and had a notable 3-0 over MVD. He was eliminated by , placing 5th at the event. He also placed 5th at Just Roll With It! 11, taking notable sets off of Kameme 3-1 and RFang 2-1 before being 3-0'd by Abadango and reverse 3-0'd by Peabnut.

At the next few major tournaments, Fatality dropped potential wins over top players and was upset in losers bracket shortly after. He placed 33rd at Glitch 7 after he lost to Dabuz 2-1 and Mekos 2-0. And at The Big House 9, he lost to Cosmos 2-1 and Monty 2-0. Although after these sets, Fatality's run started to fall apart. He lost to Dark Wizzy 3-1 and was eliminated by Mr. E 3-0, missing his chance to get top 8 at a major, but still placing 9th overall.
