Regional performance had  usually resulted in a top 10 finish with wins in Indy, Louisville, Cincinnati, Toledo, and Michigan and respectable performances at Midwest Mayhem events in Chicago, and a 3rd place finish at Glitch 3 to name a few. 2017 concluded with a 1st place finish at WinterTheatre in Indiana, and a similar 1st place win at Holiday Heist 3 in Michigan. At Holiday Heist 3, DarkShad came up on Losers side to defeat Ally, and managed to win both grand finals sets over Cosmos as well.
 
Darkshad hopes to realize continued progression during 2018. PGRV4 ranked Shad at 26th, representing a return to PGR after a strong 2nd half 2017. Genesis and Frostbite, the first two "majors" of the new year were relatively successful for Darkshad.  His 25th place finish at Genesis and 9th place finish at Frostbite were a continuation of the positive trend from 2017.
