Trivia[edit]
- Dark Wizzy qualified one year and five months prior to the tournament due to it being postponed. After it was postponed, there were jokes congratulating Dark Wizzy on winning Smash Ultimate Summit 3 due to him being the only confirmed player.
- At $159,131, this tournament has the largest singles pot for an Ultimate tournament, more than tripling Smash Ultimate Summit's record of $51,917, and is the first to exceed $100,000. It is also the largest pot for any Smash game, beating out Smash Summit 11's record.
- As a result, Tweek won the largest cash prize in Smash history, at $47,739.30.
- Similarly to Smash Summit 11, the vote-in process for Smash Ultimate Summit 3 achieved a number of firsts in comparison to prior Summits:
- During the final day of nomination, an anonymous user botted the nomination phase, causing a surge of votes for Gamer, JeJaJeJa, Jake, and M.M.Leo.[6]
- During the second round of elimination, Larry Lurr edged out Chag by a single vote, making this the closest someone was from being eliminated for a Smash Summit tournament.[7]
- Aaron received the most votes for any first round Summit vote-in player in Summit history up to that point (around 120,900 votes), narrowly surpassing Hungrybox's record at Smash Summit 11.
- Peanut received the most votes for any player that would ultimately be eliminated from the voting phase (around 144,000 votes), surpassing Wizzrobe's record at Smash Summit 11.
- Kola received the most votes out of anyone ever voted into a Summit event (around 184,000 votes), surpassing Yingling's record at Smash Summit 11.
- This was the first Smash Summit:
- with no top Melee players competing (discounting Hungrybox in the VIP bracket).
- where a player that qualified by winning a qualifying tournament, Dark Wizzy, did not win a single set while competing.
- where a player that placed last at a previous Summit would go on to win the entire event.
- This was the first Smash Ultimate Summit where every player that was voted in won at least one set while competing.
- This is the first time since Frostbite 2019 where Tweek defeated MkLeo offline, ending Tweek's losing streak against MkLeo.
- Likewise, this was the first time since Frostbite 2017 (in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U) where Dabuz defeated KEN.
