:*New suggestions may not be added in the month leading up to the next featured article (e.g. no suggestions in December because it's a month before January).
*For the inherent eligibility for an article to be featured, keep the following in mind:
*Feature articles will be chosen based on vote count alone.
**Any articles with a maintenance template on it is not eligible to be featured. If you want to feature an article tagged with such a template, fix the issues the article was tagged with the template for before trying to suggest it.
:*The article with the highest vote total (supports being +1, opposes being -1) will be chosen.
***Note that this does not apply to articles with templates that indicate an issue with the page that likely cannot be fixed, such as a tournament tagged with {{t|LostResults}} or an image tagged with {{t|HighQualityUnavailable}}.
:*In the event of a tie, an admin picks which article gets used.
**Articles in the Smasher, Tournament, and Team spaces are eligible for featuring, but they should cover especially notable subjects to be considered, and must have substantial content on them beyond just a table of results. Roy is arguably one of the most popular Smash characters (and was one of two most wanted veterans to return to Smash, alongside Mewtwo). Additionally, Marth and Roy both contributed to bringing Fire Emblem to the western audiences, making their inclusion in Melee a very smart decision on Sakurai's part. Obviously, we could have a standard "featured article" that stays up as normal, but I think it would be really cool to feature an article for a character or series for a single day based on their date of origin. As examples, even though we just passed it, we could have the pages for [[Sonic the Hedgehog]] or the {{uv|Sonic the Hedgehog}} universe on June 23rd; we could have the pages for [[Ryu]], [[Ken]], or the {{uv|Street Fighter}} universe on August 30th; we could have the pages for [[Cloud Strife]] or [[Sephiroth]] on January 31st, but the {{uv|Final Fantasy}} universe page on December 18th, since the series debuted on the latter date, but ''Final Fantasy VII'' released in Japan on the former date. We are an encyclopedic website covering information about all of these different video game series, so I think it would be really cool to honor them in some significant way. I should note that this would only be limited to playable characters, Assist Trophies, and {{rollover|stages|note that the stages would not be the featured article itself, but rather the universe they come from, like Nintendogs or Electroplankton|y}}, as to not make this absolutely insane, but I think it would be super neat for us to do something like that.

I believe this is worthy of featured article considering how many characters there are in the game with each one having at least 8 alternate costumes (400+ costumes) with almost each one coming from (or likely referencing) costumes from their respective universes, while being able to accurately inform in great detail where those swaps originate from and filtering out information that is too speculative or just plain false. :I would say 50% is a huge exaggeration considering it has been gone through multiple times by multiple people since it was made and, from what I could see, I haven't seen a one time removal of mass false information. It must've taken a lot of willing contributors and/or massive effort to bring the article to its near-complete if not complete status we have today, including the articles detailing his [[command-input move]]s, special moves, [[Crouch Dash]], technical data for each move (except for [[Heaven's Door]] and [[Final Blaster]], which do not have technical articles yet), etc. Deserves featured article status to me. Albeit, this is because he is the person most relevant to Smash, so obviously there's gonna have to be more written about him here, and people less relevant to Smash (Miyamoto, Itoi, Sugimori) are gonna have far less written about them and that's that. So Iwata's page can't be all that meaty in comparison to Sakurai's, but it could be far better given his roles in the original Smash game. If I were to use an analogy, I'd say that Sakurai's page is perfectly short skirt quality, while Iwata's page is like a speedo. It could cover more.
