| |||
Rodin appears as an Assist Trophy. He uses his own version of the Wicked Weaves, as well as generating random items and tossing them to those who summon him.

Rodin is high ranking demon who acts as a demonic weapon smith, forging weapons made from the souls of demons for those capable to wield them, and able to afford them. Once a weapons smith for Paradiso, he was a high ranking angel with the Dea status, second only to its ruler Jubileus, The Creator. However, after a failed attempt to take over Paradiso for his own desires (or perhaps being framed for doing so by jealous rivals), he was cast from Paradiso to Inferno.

Now one of the most powerful ranking demons in Inferno, he harvests the souls of the fellow damned and fuses them into weapons. He created Bayonetta's signature guns Scarborough Fair and Love is Blue, made from a special demonic alloy that "The Devil himself would do anything to get his hands on". He had the gemstones embedded into the chambers of each gun, which house the spirits of demonic fairies from hell. Through their magic, each gun contains an infinite number of automatically loading magical bullets.

In the first game, he has a mostly-professional relationship with Bayonetta. He provides her with the weapons she needs to slay angels, and she provides him with halos, the in-game currency. In the second game, he is shown to be far more light-hearted than before; dressing as a street-side Santa during the holiday season, and proclaiming that disbelief in Santa Claus is "sacrilege". He also has a seemingly strong bond with the family of Enzo, Bayonetta's informant.
After Jeanne lost her soul he uses magic to preserve Jeanne's body on Bayonetta's behalf, proclaiming in secret he hopes she can 'create miracles'. After Bayonetta manages to get into Inferno he claim's if she dies he would be the first to devour her soul, before fighting along side her and protecting her from multiple waves of powerful demons. By the end of the game Rodin is there to celebrate Bayonetta's victory alongside the rest of the main cast, working with Luka to hand out flyers for his Bar as the post-holiday season was known for lots of heavy drinkers.
Rodin serves as a secret boss in both Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2; the first game has him using his former angel combat skills while the second has him use his current demonic powers at full strength. He is also a playable character in the second games multiplayer mode Tag Climax.

Depending on the series amiibo, he will make a comment about the location the package is from. If a SSB4 amiibo is scanned, he claims Bayonetta has a package from her "fight club", and then asks her that she take him with her the next time she's invited.

*By mentioning his bar (the Gates of Hell) by name, Rodin's trophy description in SSB4 marks the first instance of mild language used in the Super Smash Bros. series.
*Oddly, the blog post for Rodin has "63: BAYONETTA" as one of the tags, which are normally reserved for the fighters themselves. | *Oddly, the blog post for Rodin has "63: BAYONETTA" as one of the tags, which are normally reserved for the fighters themselves.
