This special tourney uses unique rules that typically restrict the available fighters, stages, items, or rulesets according to a specific theme. There are no special rewards for winning an event tourney besides advancing farther resulting in more spirit points, snacks, and more powerful [[spirit]]s. These are just meant to be fun changes of pace that keep the game interesting or commemorate some kind of event like a new game or anniversary.
