| While low in [[range]] Ness' forward tilt has good [[knockback]] making it a go-to tool for pushing your opponent back and gaining stage control. The centered version works well for this in situations where [[Ness_(SSBM)/Forward_smash|forward smash]] would be too slow and [[Ness_(SSBM)/Neutral_attack|jabs]] would not reach. The high and low versions of this attack have usefulness as an anti-air attack and [[edgeguarding]] tool respectively.
