Ness performs a [[stomp (archetype)|stomp]] attack below him. The move has a decent amount of [[startup]], somewhat high [[ending lag]], and some [[landing lag]] (especially compared to its previous incarnation) so this can be a risky move to use. On the other hand, it autocancels the entire time there is no hitbox, which is a step above most other aerials. The down aerial functions as Ness' [[meteor smash]] to [[edgeguard]] and has very high base knockback, but has low knockback scaling, so it cannot KO until 200% on grounded opponents.
