* [[Multi-Man Melee]] is a [[:Category:Single player modes|single player mode]] in [[SSBM|Melee]] that pits the player's character against a team of [[Fighting Wire Frames]] in various situations.  Different modes within Multi-Man Melee include:
 
* [[10-Man Melee]] is a mode in which the player must defeat 10 Fighting Wire Frames without falling or self-destructing. This is the shortest of all Multi-Man Melees; it usually takes about 10-20 seconds to complete.
* [[100-Man Melee]], in which the player must defeat 100 Wire Frames without falling. (Falco is also unlocked after clearing this.)
* [[3-Minute Melee]], is a mode in which the player must defeat as many Fighting Wire Frames as possible within 3 minutes without falling or self-destructing. When 3 minutes are up, the game ends. This mode is relatively easy in difficulty. The 3-Minute Melee high scores for each character depend on whether the goal was reached or not. If it was not yet cleared, it will say the longest the character has survived; if it was cleared, it will say how many enemies were KO'd in that period of time.
* [[15-Minute Melee]], is a mode in which the player must defeat as many Fighting Wire Frames as possible within 15 minutes without falling or self-destructing. This is arguably one of the more difficult Multi-Man Melees, though simple strategies such as spamming a single move or evading the [[Fighting Wire Frames|wire frames]] throughout the time period will suffice. Defeating this mode will unlock Kongo Jungle N64, an original SSB stage brought over to SSBM.
 
* [[Endless Melee]], in which the player must defeat as many Wire Frames as possible before falling.
* [[Cruel Melee]], in which the player must defeat as many Wire Frames, with high handicaps and increased aggressiveness, as possible.  This mode is famous for its involvement in the [[Forum:Sonic and Tails rumor|Sonic and Tails rumor]] spread by Electronic Gaming Monthly: that after defeating 20 Wire Frames in a single round, Sonic and Tails will  challenge the player and become available characters.  This rumor has proven false both in premise and in practice - not only would it be highly unlikely that SEGA (which, at Melee's release, was not yet a third party company) would sell its characters for use in a Nintendo game, but Cruel Melee strategies proved very quickly that Sonic and Tails did not appear after obtaining 20 kills. Also, the [[Mr. Resetti (Trophy)|Mr. Resetti Trophy]] is unlocked in Cruel Melee by defeating 5 opponents.
 
There is also a [[15-Man Melee]] in Adventure mode. The [[Event Match]] ''[[Event 37: Legendary Pokémon|Legendary Pokémon]]'' is also sometimes called a Multi-Man Melee, due to the goal of defeating several Wire Frames.
