Meta Crystal (メタ・クリスタル), also known as Metal Mario's Stage, Metal Cavern and a variety of other names, is the stage on which Metal Mario is fought in the 1P Game of Super Smash Bros. This stage can be accessed only in 1P Game or through cheat codes, hacks, or other devices. The stage is quite small, probably to counter how difficult it is to hit Metal Mario offstage.

Meta Crystal has two platforms, one on top of another. The top platform is a small soft platform. The bottom platform is the main platform that slants upwards to the right, and downwards to the left.
The stage is made up of one small platform and a base platform. The bottom one is slightly raised to the right and lower to the left. Above the middle of the bottom platform is a floating platform. There is a metal path in the middle of the larger platform on the stage.

The stage is quite small, probably to counter how difficult it is to hit Metal Mario offstage. Items have a very low spawn rate.

Origin
This stage is loosely based mariowiki, a secret area in supermariowiki. It can be accessed within the mariowiki level by jumping into a pool of liquid metal hidden behind a set of double doors in the Underground Lake area of the cave. Upon entering the cavern, Mario will transform into his metal power-up form for a short time. Hitting the Metal Cap Switch will activate the green Metal Boxes in the game, which will allow Mario to transform into Metal Mario by breaking them.

This stage features elements from both levels. The stage's setting takes place in an underground area decorated with glimmering crystals similar to the Cavern of the Metal Cap. The platforms and the wire walls are similar to those found in the Hazy Maze Cave. The large glimmering crystals resemble a design previously featured in the underground levels of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

Additionally, the skybox of the stage, an overgrowth of dark blue crystals, loosely resembles the background of the ice cave levels in the Super Mario All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 3.
This level is most likely based on Super Mario 64s Metal Cavern, considering that both involve Metal Mario and contain various crystals. The platform and wire walls match those of Hazy Maze Cave, which is the only way to access Metal Cavern.
