Melee]]''. The MPGR was a successor to the [[SSBMRank]] that had handled the ''Melee'' power rankings since 2013. Despite this change, the ranking process was identical to how it worked previously, with the rankings being panel-based and featuring two rankings each year: a 50-player ranking to mark the half-way point of the year, and a whole-year ranking released in early January of the following year.
