Slippy's Invention is the 23rd event match of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
The player controls a fighter of their choice and must win a 2 stock match against an invisible CPU Fox and Falco on the Venom stage. This event match features no time limit. The CPU Fox and CPU Falco's artificial intelligence is set at Level 4.
When the match starts, the player's fighter will spawn on the left upper soft platform of the stage, while the invisible Fox spawns on the upper right soft platform of the stage, and the invisible Falco spawns on the lower upper soft platform of the stage. The invisibility is also used in Invisible Melee, rather than the Cloaking Device, so Fox and Falco can still be damaged. The stock icons for Fox and Falco appear darkened to indicate their invisibility.
At the beginning of the match, after the announcer says "Go!", Slippy Toad appears on communication, asking about the cloaking device he invented.

Trivia[edit]
- This is the only event match in Melee that can be played before unlocking a character it contains that doesn't unlock the character on completion. This trait is shared with Event 19: Wario Bros. and Co-Op Event 8: All MINE! in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
